First off the building and foyer area is stunning. The corridors leading to the rooms are large and spacious. But I'm afraid to say that's it for anything good. The rooms are dated and in need of repair. The plaster was peeling off the ceiling and the bath taps still ran when the shower was running. We booked a double...

The hotel is a beautiful building and I'm sure would have been very grand in its day. It is in need of a little t l c. Our room was ok but the bathroom was a shared one. Fortunately the room next door was empty. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

If, like me, you don't smoke then keep away from this place. The Adelphi is a complete dump too!! At one point there was a stand-up argument between a guest and reception staff. Im sure, in its day, that this place was once a grande hotel but its just old and tired and in need of a full refurb. Its...

Apparently it was THE place to stay in the 1960's when it must have been stunning and brimming with opulence. Now sadly it is so very tired and desperately in need of redecoration. Avoid room 501 and similar numbers on other floors. It is right opposite the lift. For many hours, I could not sleep due to a loud ding,...

I went on a national holidays 3 day extravaganza to Liverpool, staying at the Adelphi hotel. After reading several reviews on here my expectations were pretty low and I was braced for the worst. Though the hotel is a little dated in places, the overall cleanliness of my room was far better than I had anticipated. The beds were a...

Went to Liverpool for my stag do and manged to get a great deal on the Adelphi. Stayed fri and sat so the hotel was quite busy but it didnt cause any problems. Have to say the hotel has seen better days and could be doing with a face lift but it wasnt something that bothered me. I ended up...

When I booked for my group I requested 2 disabled rooms on a low floor near lifts. On arrival I found that ALL disabled rooms are on the top (6th) floor & my friends rooms were as far away as possible from a lift (very long corridors). Everyone we spoke to also found that the secondary (supposedly sliding) double glazing...

Really impressive building in central Liverpool, however would be a much better experience with some upgrading. The room was quite dated and even a fresh carpet or lick of paint would make this a really spectacular stay. Check in was slow. There seems to be a lot going on in the hotel with weddings and functions, but there didnt seem...

The opulance of the lounges and ballrooms with the marbled corridors pales next to very shabby not chic of the bedrooms. It was a cheap room through booking.com and the cleanliness was reasonable, however, the room felt very cheap and lacked quality.

Lovely hotel, good facilities, decent beer and food. Nostalgic atmosphere of a proud grand hotel that takes you back to Liverpools heyday with large airy rooms gilded decor and glistening chandeliers. Yes a little dated now and probably needs about a £5mil refurb to restore to its former glory but really charming if you're not too fussy!
