I booked a private double room for one night on a Monday, before reading quite worrying reviews on Tripadvisor that, I have to say, made me quite nervous about our stay. On arrival to Hatters I was impressed; a old and interesting building that has been re purposed for a hostel. The reception was very welcoming and quite grand, and... More

First hostel I've felt instantly at home . Each room has its own bathroom , rooms are spacey , free towels , good breakfast and free food Tuesdays ! I travelled by myself and meet so many people from this hostel .Would most defiantly stay again :)

Can't expect much for £11, bed and breakfast but was very reasonable. The bed was comfortable enough, facilities were clean and continental buffet was great. Some eggs would have been nice but croissants were a luxury. Would definitely stay again.

First night it was terrible, it was Friday night and throughout the whole night we could hear drunk people coming trough the corridor, so of them tried coming inside our rooms and were knocking on the door at 4am. Somehow one of the drunk guys managed to get inside our room even though it wasn't his room and he didn't... More

Everything was just as pictured...very quaint old building repurposed into a hostel. Very close walk to main attractions in Liverpool. Breakfast was good with cereals, coffee, meat and cheese. Coffee and tea available 24/7. Served a special Thanksgiving dinner on Thurs evening to celebrate the traditional American holiday. Rooms are small but adequate. Could have used a mirror in the... This place was falsely advertised on booking.com as an apartment when in fact it's a cold damp room with a shower room. Do not be fooled by the pics or the high price, they do not match the quality of the room. We have been staying in Liverpool for years to celebrate my birthday,'staying in beautiful apartments for the same... More

Overall it was a good stay. I was in the 4-bed dorm rooms, which were clean. The ambiance was good, but the particular night I stayed (Thursday), there wasn't much going on. Great feel to the place generally, decor fits the building and the city's atmosphere. Would recommend.

Hostel was ok, better for a flying visit and not a vacation, rooms good, need a bit of a freshen and paint but breakfast was good a nice selection. Lift access and very near Liverpool one, bus stationary central train station.

Daughter booked this for us to stay while we visited university. Don't be fooled by the rather impressive entrance. I was especially 'taken' with the Jesus mosaic and gorgeous chesterfields in the 'refectory'. The facilities are very (very) basic. My room was freezing cold, it being November and the windows being left wide open for my arrival. ( on closing... More
