A group of five family members descended upon this hotel for a three night break. We booked this establishment due to the favourable reviews and the reasonable prices for the rooms. From the moment of our arrival Meg and Simon were nothing but helpful. They assisted in enabling us to park on the street outside before Meg showed us the rooms. Our room (8) was compact but made good use of the available space. There were a lot of nice little touches that enhanced the experience. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. We all enjoyed the breakfast. The full English was well presented with quality ingredients. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay however one small note of caution though nothing to do with the hotel. We did come across some undesirable characters in the area at night, just be wary. Great hotel, great hosts, great breakfast and great value.

We booked a short stay (Fri/Sat nights) here and have just returned home following our visit. All the reviews are very well placed in our opinion as the Owners Meg and Simon are extremely friendly. Upon arrival, we met with Meg who checked us in and took us up to our room. We stayed in the deluxe suite which was the largest room on the top floor which came with a separate lounge area with 2-seater sofa and second TV. I must say that while this is a nice touch, we didn't use this room to lounge in as our stay was a short one so we were often out and about until bedtime so had no use of the lounge except to keep our luggage out of the way. It is a good sized lounge and as stated on their website, could be used as part of a family room to accommodate children. There was a view of the Blackpool Tower from the window in the lounge area. we also met with Meg's partner Simon albeit briefly as the weather was getting extremely hot and he'd just returned from a walk. He was very friendly too and believe he is the chef at mornings for the breakfast. Meg and Simon work very hard at keeping their standards up and after chatting about this with Meg during our stay it's clear they are both very passionate about what they do and how hard they work to make this business a success. Kudos to the both pf them. Now back to our stay - as mentioned the weather was unseasonably hot and in the run up to our visit we contacted Meg to request a fan to be in the room. Meg did this with no problem at all. The rooms are well equipped with TV, Hospitality tray of tea/coffee which can be refilled upon request, Iron/Ironing board. Due to the hot weather, we asked if there was a possibility of obtaining a second fan and Meg obliged us again with no problems at all - this made our stay extremely comfortable. So comfortable in fact that on both mornings we failed to get up for breakfast!!! Upon checkout, Meg did say that we were missed at breakfast time and we were gutted about this as generally we are NOT morning people at all, and so had set an alarm specifically for the breakfast. So gutted we slept through this alarm and missed out - however we would definitely book again here and recommend to friends and family. Maybe next time we can actually get up to sample the breakfast! Street parking is very limited, however there is a huge car park just a 2 minute walk away from the hotel called Bank's Street Car Park which was right near the train station, and just £14 for 48hrs or £17 for 72hrs. Loads of spaces available. Thanks to both Meg, Simon and pugs for the warm welcome (no pun intended) and looking after us in this heat!

From first speaking to the lovely host Meg, a couple of months ago, i knew we were in good hands. On arrival to this little gem she was super lovely. Helping me with my bags and wheelchair. So helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean, with high quality linen and towels. Lots of little extras included such as shower gel, shampoo, a hairdryer, an ironing board and iron, little bags of confectionery and chocs. The bed was really comfortable. It was really hot and Meg brought us a fan for the room. Breakfast was spot on, again good quality bacon and sausage. And piping hot. On the whole I could not fault these hosts, even going down to posting a parcel for me. They were incredible and i will definitely return.
