It looks very grand from the front and is in a fantastic spot for central Blackpool and the beach, but you don't have to look far to see the decay and decline of the place. We weren't expecting much from this budget hotel but it was much worse than anywhere we've stayed before. Good - the food was ok, sometimes...

Stayed here overnight with my girlfriend. Booked online for around the £70 mark for a smoking room. On arrival found that we had to pay to park my car on hotel car park. What's that all about?? The wallpaper was coming off the walls on the stairway, not a good first impression. Our room was on the 3rd floor and...

Got a room last minute at the Metropole around midnight to catch an early train the next morning. Reception staff were very helpful and the room was value for such a situation. The room itself looked bare with a not so great window view, but included the proper amenities, so it was fine for a one-off. However, on this weekend...

The Metropole hotel is ideally situated on the sea front with quite a large car park costing £3 per 24 hrs if you are staying at the hotel, although it gets full quite quickly. The staff are helpful and friendly and the rooms are warm and clean. The breakfast is a buffet style with lots of choice in a large...

Where do I start?! The only good point about this hotel is that it is in a good location, on the sea front and nice receptionist on arrival. Yes they are the only good points!! The whole hotel is out dated, stains all over the carpets, stains on the chair in the room, window so filthy they block out the...

had a really nice stay for the Rock 'n' Roll weekend--nice room which was very clean and overall the Hotel seemed brighter with refurbish work in progress and new carpets in some of the rooms--this Grand Hotel has had a varied past but looks to have a bright future--doesn't deserve some of the negative reviews.

My friends and I had the displeasure of visiting Blackpool for a weekend event. If having to come to the god forsaken sea side town wasn't punishment enough for our sins; we unfortunately had an overnight in the "Grand" Metropole Hotel. Alike most of the town itself, the Grand Metropole, hasn't managed to keep up with the times. The decor...
