Nice hotel 5-10 minutes walk from the small town of Windermere. Bowness on Windermere is about 20-25 minutes walk in the opposite direction of the hotel. Windermere has a few nice pubs and restaurants - we ate at Gioto's which is an Italian restaurant with delicious food. Also had a meal at the Lighthouse bar/ restaurant which was very busy...

Really nice small hotel in decent location. Very clean room and nice little bar. Special mention of the breakfast - really tasty! Well convenient for Windermere and a lovely stroll to Bowness downhill. Back up hill on the way back though.

Visited here in May with a friend and can not fault it at all. Staff are lovely, the lady and gentleman (sorry did not get their names!) especially, they could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The room was cosy and very clean, and breakfast was also very yummy. Hotel guests get to use a spa also which is...

Cosy hotel with friendly staff. We stayed for one night during our stay in the Lake district. We will definitely stay again when we visit the area next. Lovely comfortable bar/lounge for guests. Convenient location to explore bowness and Windermere. Excellent breakfast served in a pleasant dining area.

Lovely hotel. Rooms were clean. Staff very friendly. Food was excellent. Conveniently located for walking to Windermere and Bowness. Be aware car parking space tight especially for large vehicles. Jackie was friendly and recommended a local walk over Orrest Head. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We just had one night at this lovely hotel, but could happily have stayed longer. It is located mid way between Windermere and Bowness, so a great location. The service was extremely friendly and the room was clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The en- suite was small but was more than adequate and again very clean. Breakfast was excellent with...

Booked for two nights but left after one. Have never booked a double room where the bed is smaller than a standard double, spent most of the night awake, scared I would push my pregnant girlfriend out of the bed if I moved. Shower was filthy and cobwebs in bedroom. Expected more for £110 a night.

Over exaggeration by this guest .. all of our beds are doubles or Kingsize.. This is a lovely room.. Number 12.. It is advertised as a Classic Double Room .. there was one small cobweb in the side lamp and a teeny weeny spider. Clean shower room. Booked direct and this room would have cost £89 but going through other...

Charming hotel with "at home" warmth and ambiance. Helpful and pleasant staff. Jackie recommended the sites to take in and reserved seats for us on a popular Mountain Goat bus tour of the lakes. Our room was lovely and welcoming with a unique arrangement of towels (won't spoil the surprise) and Rose petals with chocolate. Tea accommodation in the room....

We visited Windermere and stayed at the Glenburn to surprise some family friends who had also booked in here. Thanks to Jackie the landlady who helped keep the surprise. Luckily everything went well and the surprise was a success. Hotel is very comfortable, staff very friendly. Beautiful decor and very clean. Would recommend it.
