We stayed at the Howbeck for one night for our anniversary. We had the Mickleden room which is at the back of the hotel on the ground floor. It is a lovely light room which looked out onto the magnolia tree which was in full bloom. The room and bathroom were very clean and the nice touch of a decanter...

Stayed two night's at The Retreat at Howbeck. Booked direct arriving a couple of hours after we'd made our booking! Kindly greeted on arrival and shown around our accomodation. Complimentary decanter of sherry in our room, fairy lights above our bed and scattered rose petals. The Retreat is privately located at the rear of the building. Beautifully appointed throughout. Patio...

Went to The Howbeck for a 2 night stay over Easter weekend. Room was lovely and spacious, bed comfortable. Both bedroom and ensuite were clean and well-kept. Staff were all friendly and polite and food was very nice with a good choice at breakfast. Would return. Many thanks for a lovely break.

Its very disappointing to find a run down place like this. Was expecting 5*hotel . There is no restaurant There is no bar There is some agreement with a spa 30mins away Dont be fooled into thinking there's a pool or spa on site. Small room..shower only ..no luxury bath or jacuzzi. Tiny poor quality tv(17" computer monitor on the wall)...

Stayed for 1 night b&b in the mickleden room which was clean, spacious and quiet. It has double aspect windows and overlooked a spectacular magnolia tree (we focused on that rather than the car park) breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and very helpful. We come to Windemere a couple of times a year, we like to eat...

The howbeck retreat was amazing! We had a jacuzzi in room and our breakfast delivered in the morning. The location was great, less than 2 min walk into the town and about 20-30 mins walk to the lake. Staff were friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay!

A great Hotel near enough to the centre of Windemere yet far enough to be totally peaceful. Our Room (Deepdale) had a great view showing some wonderful sunsets. The room itself was large and with everything included we wanted. Breakfast which you order the night before from an extensive menu, was fresh and fillied with quality Bacon and Sausage. The...

I booked this to celebrate my wife's birthday. Turned out to be a great choice. We stayed in the Glenridding room. Very clean with a spa bath and four poster bed. I arranged for champagne on arrival. My wife loved this extra. It was all very romantic which was what I has planned. The breakfast was fantastic and set us...

Me and my partner recently stayed at the howbeck and let me tell you! It was fantastic. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. After a gruelling 6+ hour trip due to delayed and cancelled trains we finally arrived around half past 10 at night! The lovely girl on the front desk was so cheery and could see we were...
