I found the centre a wonderful peaceful retreat, it is without doubt a Christian centre, so please do not be alarmed at the fact that there are crosses on the wall, and all the literature is of a Christian direction. Hosts Peter & Daphne are most welcoming and good conversationalists, their ministry is to welcome you to Cumbria, but in...

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a hiking group organised by a local company. Can't fault the accommodation. Staff (Eva in particular) were very friendly and helpful and there was a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Room was very clean and comfortable - no mod cons but beds comfortable and very nice shower. I stayed in 106 which was above...

This place is a little gem. It is a retreat centre that offers simple but super clean rooms that puts many places to shame. Our room came en suite. Our meals were great too and they even cater to gluten free, lactose free... They are truly so accommodating. Here's my list on why this place is great. 1. Super hospitality...

Attended a conference here and we weren't disappointed with the accommodation, the rooms though basic are very clean and have all you need. There is a stairlift to help people with disabilities access upper levels. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Would be happy to stay here again as pricing very reasonable and you have...

We were visiting as a group & had access to a comfortable lounge with plenty of space for us all to sit together. Hope to...

All the rooms were ensuite and two of our party who had mobility issues had rooms which met their requirements. Amazing food!! Both evenings and sunday lunch were 3 course meals. More food than we needed. Obliging...

This pleasant house of Lakeland Stone is a training centre, mainly for Christian activities. It is open to other visitors to Windermere if they want to stay for bed and breakfast.
