We have stayed in several hotels in the area but this one is by far the best of the best. From the decor to the food the staff the room you can't fault it at all. The food was fantastic. Breakfast and dinner....just superb. Our room was number 17 super stylish and had a luxury spa bath with a TV in the bathroom!! It was fabulous. The room had plenty of drawer storage (which is sadly lacking in some hotels. ) great bedroom. Kevin the owner was so welcoming and always on hand if you needed anything. We stayed for 3 days and wished it was longer. Loved it. This is our go to place to stay now in Windermere. Next time hopefully a hot tub suite to try,!!! Fabulous.

We visited the Applegarth last August 2019 for the first time staying in a beautiful room in the main hotel, room 9 with stunning views and fabulous four poster bed. We decided to come back again this year for our anniversary and we were blown away and so happy we did. We decided that we would treat ourselves to a stay in one of the hot tub suites which adjoin the hotel. I have never stayed in such a stunning place. Everything was outstanding, all the small touches like fresh fruit, chocolates, a fridge, fab coffee machine etc really added to the experience. The suite had mood lighting and a button by your bed to automatically pull back the curtains to see the spectacular view in the morning. The hot tub was big enough for two, complete with rubber duck! We used this loads and was very welcome after our first days 15 mile hike, really did soothe our muscles. We ate in the restaurant on one night which was delicious and the breakfast is outstanding, so much choice and so much of it!! They also have a very well stocked bar to chill in after dinner, with a great choice of wines, beers, cocktails and whiskey. The staff were super friendly and nothing was too much bother. Suzanne and her family can be rightly proud of this amazing place. We are planning to return, hopefully soon. I would rate this hotel 5*+ If you're looking for peace and quiet (no kids allowed!) in a stunning location with a refined feel then the Applegarth is for you.…

If you are looking for a place that "extra special" this is your place to go! Windermere is already insanely beautiful, and our stay in this hotel just made it perfect! Very attentive staff, high standards food and great services available. We were even able to take our dog (a golden retriever) with us too. We would love to come back soon! P.S. the bathroom TV is just the cherry on top of the cake!!!

We stayed in the Middlerigg suite and it was excellent in fact the whole stay was. Lovely friendly welcome,all staff lovely throughout. We ate in the restaurant on our first night then got a taxi down in to Bowness on the second night. Checkout quick and friendly. I have to say we have been extremely impressed through all our dealings as we had to move our trip due to earlier lockdowns and the management couldn’t of been more helpful. A definite return visit next year.

We stayed in the Middlerigg Hot Tub Suite which was absolutely amazing. the finish is to such a high standard, real luxury. very spacious and you can't hear the surrounding rooms which makes it nice and private. Everything I asked to be arranged for us was organised and I found the staff friendly and polite. Its hard in the current climate as you can't just decide when to eat but have to book a time, I found this restrictive, but this is due to COVID and the hotel has done everything they can to create a safe environment. I would love to go back in the summer when the world is open again.
