This is an impressive building in a superb setting on the outskirts of Winderemere. The relatively new owners are currently refurbishing some of the bedrooms but the quality of the food served in the Dining Room is not commensurate with the status of such an establishment.

Thank you for your review and I am pleased that you had an enjoyable stay with us. I am sorry you did not enjoy our food and if you would care to write direct to us and explain what it is you found dissappointing then we will look into this and revert back to you. We are indeed in the middle of creating a new menu which will come into operation in the latter part of April 2019. Once again thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for your review and I am sorry that things were not to your liking. I can inform you that we have indeed started a refurbishment on Monday which will address some of the issues you mentioned. Ref the food, I am sorry that you were disappointed, The bacon and sweetcorn is a "butter sauce" as per the menu and not a "sauce". I can assure you that all vegetables are fresh as we do not used tinned vegetables and the fish is fresh fish, battered on the premises and is not a supermarket basic food. I can only apologise for any shortcomings that occurred.

Thank you for your kind review and the fantastic news is that Starboard have agreed an upgrade programme and work will be commencing shortly. I would also like to say, that without doubt Starboard are totally aware and are committed to the services for the Visually Impaired, to the extent I would say they are more committed than our previous owners. Thank you for your kind comments and I will be sure to share these with the team and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

We have just been to the Manor and we have two big Guide Dogs.We have had several other breeds while we were up there.Ask for the annex room 35 or 36.In the new refurbished bit slight quick walk up to main building.Rooms larger and less noise than being in main hotel.Have been going up to this hotel for 15 years.

Hi Are there any bedrooms where dogs are not permitted?
Due to the nature of our business, all bedrooms will have had dogs in them as at times we can have up to 20 guide dogs staying with us.
