Kirkwood Guest House is a home from home. The location of the guest house is perfect, just a 10 minute walk into the centre of Windermere. The room was lovely and clean. The owners (Richard and Paula) are very welcoming and have a great knowledge of the area. The breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a weekend in February. Staff were lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious and catered very well for vegetarians. The room was spacious with a gorgeous four poster bed that was very comfy. The bathroom was tiny but was clean and had a powerful, hot shower. Location was excellent 10min walk to Windermere or Bowness. Only... More

The B&B is around 5-10 minutes walk between both Windermere and Bowness towns, so we had a good choice of places to visit within walking distance, with road itself nice and quiet. We went there over New Year, but although the town itself was busy there was plenty of parking around guest house. Food was great, with the 'Full English'... More

Just had a two night break at Kirkwood, and the new owners Richard and Paula made me feel so welcome. Tea and biscuits in the lounge on arrival was very much appreciated, before I was shown to my room which was lovely and warm and comfortable, with everything I needed. Breakfast was beautifully cooked with plenty of variety. I had... More
