We stayed here for one night on a DB&B basis. We arrived soon after midday and were able to check in immediately. Parking was straightforward at this time of day. Our room was of decent size, though it could have done with a couple of paintings on the wall as it was rather plain as it was. Good sized bathroom...

My wife & I stayed here 3rd/4th April on a two night 'Travelzoo'break. On arrival we were shown to our room which we were told was a 'Upgrade' & I must say the room was very nice.We were then offered our 'free' cocktails, my wife had bellini, which consisted of peach juice & prosseco, I don't drink cocktails so had...

The hotel is central enough to walk to the centre of Windermere and a couple of minutes from the train station, which also has buses to Bo'ness, Ambleside, Grasmere etc. The room was very pleasant with a good bathroom. Dinner was excellent, with the added bonus of a very informed bar man as to what wines would go best with...

The car parking needs to be sorted out as getting a space is more luck than anything else. Most of the time the car park is full. The rooms are good, a couple of the showers are on the small side. But good overall. The breakfast is included and good value!

I booked this hotel through the Travelzoo offer and we were not disappointed. There were no problems with parking, the room was comfortable and the hotel is just a short walk to plenty of shops and bars. The evening meal was superb and breakfast the following day was delicious and filling. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was...

The deal included a cocktail and 3 course meal on first night. Cocktail was good, barman even took time to write out recipe for us as we had not come...

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Lamplighter over the Christmas period. The rooms, (10 and 11), were generously proportioned with controllable heating and en suite bathrooms. Both rooms and bathrooms were very clean and were kept that way during our stay which totaled eight nights. The staff appeared to be very happy and were always polite and very helpful,...

Stayed here for two nights and couldn't fault a thing except the heating in the bedroom was a bit on the cold side. But this didn't spoil are stay, we ate in the restaurant and the food was delightful. We had drinks in the bar near the cosy log fire that is kept well stoked up. All the staff we...

We stayed at The Lamplighter on a Travelzoo deal as a stopover on a trip from Scotland to home. We would class The Lamplighter as a restaurant with rooms with, what appeared to us anyway, as the restaurant being their main focus. Our room was only average, quite bland with a number of minor repairs required in the shower room...

Went with 2 good friends for a mid-day snack. Lovely Art Deco fireplace & wallpaper. Even though it was a warm room on a cold day a pleasant chap lit the real coal fire for us. Jill & i had the steak sandwich with triple cooked chips, the steak was divine! Les had lamb broth & cleared every drop. Friendly...
