Stayed one night as working next day in nearby Rydal Hall. Very pleasant attitude at reception - helped with luggage to my room and everything explained. The room was bigger than expected - very comfortable with everything needed, well appointed bathroom - all very clean and in good condition. Very cosy bar ("Badger") with good menu choice, delicious ale, and...

Nice hotel, lovely setting. Our first time staying at the Glen Rothay and we were very happy with our stay. The room was stunning (Rothay) and warm with great views of the fells. The breakfasts were great, and lots of decent ales on tap. The room had a lovely new bathroom; the only thing I'd love to have had would...

We decided that we needed a change for Christmas this year and we were quite pleased with our decision to go for the 3 day Christmas package. We arrived and were greeted by Paul the owner. Quite a laid back type of reception, but non the less the room proved to be just as we would have wanted. We stayed...

My husband and I stayed at Glen Rothay over the Christmas weekend enjoying the three night full board offer. We received a warm welcome from Paul with some sherry and mince pies and were given some suggestions on where to go for a walk with helpful maps and leaflets of the Lake District . Short break in November. Small issue with the booking to start with due to them using an on-line agent for the first time which left us initially worried but all worked out ok before we left. The room we were given was a very nice room, the only issue was that it was right next to the main road from...
