Detailed Reviews
Situated in a quiet residential street a short walk into Penrith town centre with free on street parking, this is a traditional and authentic Victorian villa full of originality.
Breakfasts are made to order with homemade breads, granola and top quality ingredients integral to what is on offer on the menu. Quality bathroom toiletries are also provided by Pure Lakes..a local Cumbria company with ‘clean’ credentials.
Hospitality is not in short supply with a genuine interest in the welfare of guests.
The only thing which Mr Google does not tell you is that the villa is situated almost at the top of quite a steep hill, which makes returning a bit of an up hill challenge , unless by taxi which at £4 represents good value for money!

Stayed one night here en-route in driving from Exmoor to the Cairngorms. This is a most welcoming place on a quiet road, but within a mile or two of the M6 and easy reach to the town centre if required.
My room was comfortable and well furnished with a nice TV and good wi fi. There was plentiful tea and coffee and two packs of nice biscuits and I was provided with a jug of fresh milk. The en-suite was a good size with a shower and the hosts provide nice local toiletries.
Breakfast was fresh and plentiful with a varied choice to suit all tastes. I had some granola and yoghurt with fruit followed by nicely cooked scrambled egg and smoked salmon on brown toast. It was delicious as was the orange juice and freshly brewed coffee.
I would heartily recommend this B and B which is a spacious house with nice gardens as well as nice hosts. It s also reasonably priced. COViD precautions were all meticulously addressed.

Bed and breakfast done properly! I couldn't praise Bank House b&b enough. A truly beautiful house, with gorgeous garden, set on a quiet road in Penrith, just a few minutes walk from the centre. We stayed in the king sized room which boasts a magnificent hand painted floral mural behind the king sized four poster bed. We were very comfortable and I personally loved that there was a hot water bottle (just in case). Fantastic friendly, helpful hosts who are a joy to speak with. And the breakfast!! Everything locally sourced and/or produced, it was absolutely delicious and we didn't need to eat for the rest of the day haha. The Bank House b&b is a real gem and a must stay if you're in Penrith.

Clean, comfortable and quiet B&B in a lovely period property.
The room was beautifully appointed, with plenty of fluffy towels and a bathrobe, the breakfast room has a wonderful view over a well kept garden to the hills in the distance and the owners were very welcoming and helpful.
Would definitely recommend for a peaceful nights rest.

Lovely house run by Dino and his wife. Stunning gardens, great bedrooms and a breakfast to die for, especially the combination of porridge or fruit compote followed by one of the best English breakfasts I’ve ever had. Highly recommended and couldn’t fault a thing!

Fantastic traditional BB in lovely period building. Friendly knowledgeable hosts and immaculate rooms with quality furniture. Simply the best breakfast ever with home baked bread, freshly squeezed juice, homemade granola & compote, local marmalade plus a great cooked breakfast if you can fit it in. Bit of a walk from the town (15 min) but well worth it.

My husband and I recently stayed at Bank House in the room with an ensuite bath - a beautiful room. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding with locally sourced produce. We are non-drivers and found Penrith a good base from which to explore the area. There are regular trains and bus services seemed good, including a service to Pooley Bridge, from where we were able to travel by steamer around Ullswater Lake. Penrith has some great independent shops and we enjoyed a drink in the Fell Bar (which has received CAMRA awards). We can highly recommend Bank House.

The hosts made everything so easy, felt so relaxed. Room 1 and 4 were Very comfortable, well equipped, spotless. Everything Sarah has done inspires confidence in the cleanliness and safety of the rooms.
Both hosts are walking sources of information, knew more about places to see than the online venues provided re access tours, locations etc.
Both rooms well lit and ventilated with good showers.
Parking was literally outside the front door.
Finally the breakfast, superb granola, well all opted for the full cooked and staggered out in no need of more food for hours, was hot, well cooked and tasted great.
Will I go back -you bet.

What a little gem this place is.
Day one of my C2C ride ended with a stay at Bank House.
Absolutely fabulous B&B.
Loads of personal touches like beautiful home made cake on arrival (which resulted in the biggest sugar rush ever!) and a warm welcome from the owners.
My bedroom was amazing and luxurious and such good value for money.
The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had in a B&B and my only criticism was the size.... far too much to eat before my gruelling cycle ride ahead!!!
Bank House is an amazing find and I hope to stay again in the future and recommend whole heartedly to anyone reading this.

Stayed in room 2 (x2 single beds + ensuite) which was spacious and had options on bed types: firm or soft. The grounds the B&B sits on are lovely.
Deano was very friendly and helpful.
Food: had the halloumi breakfast and it was amazing!! Gutted I didn't get to try more of the food on offer.
Really enjoyed my stay and will be back.
Thanks a bunch!
