The prices do not reflect well with the style of the pub. Too expensive. I can only describe the food as very basic. Fish & Chips...the fish was below average, not flaky & the batter was hard and solid. Sticky toffee pudding....seemed like it was made with oil...alot of oil, the bowl so stone cold. If the prices were cheaper,...

We had an excellent meal in the Agricultural Hotel tonight, 5 of us ate and it was very quiet (expected as it was a Wednesday night). The service was very good and food brought to our table promptly after order. I had the steak pie which was a good portion size and very tasty. This was our second visit to...

On our way home from Scotland recently we decided we wanted a real meal instead of the motorway fare. We came off the M6 at Penrith and found this gem. The food was excellent with good sized portions of fresh vegetables and well cooked meat. This will be a location we visit again and will remember to book as it's...

We were looking for somewhere to have a night out with some friends as a leaving party and someone suggested this place. We visited about a week before and as soon as we walked in we knew it would be great and we were right. We booked it again for the next week and took our group of friends. The...

Decided to bypass the overpriced service stations on the way home from bank holiday weekend last Monday 26th. Found this hidden gem just off the motorway cit off for Penrith and so glad we did. Service with a smile the whole visit. Lovely and cosy inside albeit maybe needing slight refurb. Lovely, lovely food and very reasonable prices. Will definitely...

Myself and my husband stayed here for one night when passing through Penrith. On first impressions this hotel is quite worn and in need of some revamping but the friendley staff and the good food make up for this and very resonable also.

This pub and hotel has good meals at a fair price. My wife and I both left feeling very satisfied. We were served quickly and the staff were friendly. I would recommend the battered cod. We did not try the haggis. If you need a good hot meal , this pub is worth visiting.

Not a bad pub. Beer "garden" is a sun trap, and the beer is nice. Inside is quite cool, but could do with a makeover. Pleasant staff, and the men's toilets smell nice!!! Price of beer (£4.30 for pint of Peroni) doesn't reflect the current state of the place. Seen better, but seen far worse.

Watery April sunshine in Penrith … it’s Friday lunchtime and we're sitting outside under a parasol playing travel chess, drinking lager: Stella (white) vs Carlsberg (black). Ordered a Bacon Cheese Burger. It came in a crisped bun but soft inner with generous portions of bacon and burger. Was so tasty we ordered another as soon as we'd finished the first...
