We had a fantastic stay at the cottages with our family. We were a large group with children and there was plenty of space to gather together and stay. The children loved to play and explore the outdoor areas and the inside was lovely with all facilities and amenities needed. We did a family shop which was delivered easily via the supermarket. The hosts were amazing messaging throughout to ensure our stay was super. There is a lovely park a short walk which is fantastic for families also. Fantastic short stay and could not recommend more.

Lovely cottage, homely - relaxing - all facilities - tip top condition. Well worth our 6 hour drive to get there, we will definately return. Lots to see in area, even in 'damp' conditions which only add to the beauty of the landscape

Stayed in Highcroft cottage this weekend with a couple of friends; cottage was lovely and we had a great time but there should be a security light on the steps as it's very dark when leaving, the light from the cottage opposite comes on when you're down the the steps but that's too late really. Also checkout at 10 seems a bit early for a Sunday, especially when checkout is at 3pm.

The accommodation was filthy, and smelt of mould. It had not been cleaned before we turned up. There were rodent faeces on the floor, and unflushed urine in the toilet. We had to leave. No apology offered by the owner. Awful experience - avoid this place

We were met by the owner on arrival, who was very polite and made us feel welcome. This is our second visit to these cottages, last time we stayed in MIckledale, But on this visit it was Windale, the cottage was very warm and cosy, so peaceful, with a local pub just a short walk away, which was excellent. The weather was a bit mixed, for June, but we went to some great places, and coming back to a lovely warm cottage was really great

We arrived on New Year's Eve for 3 nights and were shown to our cottage Langrigg. The cottage was lovely and warm and very welcoming. Not sure how many other cottages were occupied as it was very quiet. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen, lounge has DVD player, lots of books and games. Bedrooms comfortable and spacious. There were only two minor niggles, no plug socket near the mirror in the bedroom and my husband who's 6ft 1in found the bath was a tad on the small side.

Our second trip to "Wetherall Cottages" on this occasion for a visit to our aunt who is recovering from a stroke.
Again a very clean, well maintained cottage. Superb shower-room when you learnt the trick of lowering the showerhead before switching it on !!. The compact kitchen was well stocked with equipment and cutlery.
Very comfortable bed - Slept well from the first night. The local Pub serves excellent food and real ale with great friendly service.
Will be staying again in 2016

A great base for exploring, walking and golfing in the Eden Valley. If you want quiet the Hamlet of Great Salkeld is for you. The cottage we stayed in was ideal for a couple looking to spend time together. It was of a high standard and excellent value. Near to Penrith and the Carlisle Settle railway. A short drive to the Pennines and the North Lakes.

We stayed at the Langriggs cottage for 7 nights. The location is great in quiet surroundings but close to Penrith and perfect for touring the Lake District. Tea and homemade cookies awaiting us made for a perfect welcome. The accommodation is to a high standard with lots of games, books and a big folder of useful information about local shops, restaurants and places of interest.

This is our third visit, and our third cottage. Every cottage has been recently refurbished, and is very pretty, comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Close to the Lake District but in a peaceful, rural area away from the crowds, with a garden for the children. Also close to Hadrian's Wall and Carlisle for historical interest. Beautiful walking country. A lovely place for a peaceful, rural holiday.
