Starter of duck spring rolls was delicious. Seafood platter for main was ok. Meant as a sharing starter really. Hot components were barely warm however. Staff efficient and friendly enough. Fire was inviting.

This used to be a great pub. The sort of place you could sit in and recover after a day on the fells covered in rain and mud. A proper Lakeland pub. Unfortunately, and Keswick is getting more and more like this, there has been a refurb and this is now more of a gastro pub than a welcome haven...

We looked at a few places in Keswick deciding where to eat for tea and came across the Royal Oak and thought it looked rather nice, we weren't disappointed, we hadn't booked so ordered our drinks at the bar and asked about a table and were shown straight away to a few empty tables, this was about 6pm, I ordered...

Popped in here last Friday with friends. Lovely man served us in a colourful shirt (didn't catch a name) we hadn't booked, but still managed to fit us all in for something to eat despite it being Friday at 9pm. Food was great, ale went down well. Perfect. Last ones to leave (as usual) and was asked pleasantly to finish...

Been there twice now and have had good food each time. The staff are friendly and attentive without being too pushy. Will go again when we visit Keswick again. Remember to book in advance at busy times.

Each time we visit Keswick we like to try lunch at a different pub so recently on a Monday we decided to give the Royal Oak a try. Service initially was rather slow as there was only one girl on duty trying to take orders, serve drinks and deliver food but after a while she was joined by more staff...

Called in here purely by chance and considered we had found a really good spot for lunch. Friendly helpful staff, plenty of seating spots and a wide choice of menu. With regard to the fish platter we chose make sure that you have a good appetite as the portions are quite substantial. Plenty of choice regarding beer selection and the...

Great two nights stay, great location shame they don't have a carpark. Top breakfast and a fine selection of whisky behind the bar. The hotel is dog friendly so Sid comes next time we had room 2 and it was very spacious and well presented.

We wanted to grab a few days in the Lakes and wanted our dog to come too. Royal Oak were superb in accommodating our request and gave us a dog friendly room and a second room with a connecting door for our teenage daughters. It's a lovely hotel, very tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean. The restaurant and bar were busy...

We called here on a very busy Saturday night looking for somewhere to eat. The waiter told us it could be up to an hour for a table so we decided to move on. Twenty minutes later we were back,, everywhere was packed. It was 8.30, the waiter was really nice & said it could be an hour for a...
