This was my TENTH stay at Thornleigh Guest House. Hosts Clare and David are really friendly and helpful making your stay as comfortable as possible. Great bedroom, brilliant breakfast, wonderful hospitality, like a home from home. An ideal location for exploring the Lake District in which David has excellent knowledge with advice and directions. Looking forward to my eleventh stay...

Just spent 4 nights at the Thornleigh Guest House slap bang in the centre of Keswick. The town is a lovely manageable size with an incredible number of outdoor pursuit related shops, but that's by the by, and I guess, expected in these parts. Keswick is in the North Lakes area, on Derwentwater lake itself, with plenty of places to...

I have no hesitation in giving Thornleigh Guest House 5 stars. It is in an excellent location, close to the main street for shopping and eating out, and with views of the mountains/hills around Keswick. But it is the hosts, Clare and David, that really make this a super place to stay. They were so friendly and attentive, from giving...

I traveled as a single female having never been to the lake district before and because of the hospitality of Clare and David, i will return. The bed was super comfortable, which is key after a day of hiking and the breakfast was perfect. Most importantly, every morning David and Clare made sure that i knew where i was going...

We were greeted by our hosts Clare and David as soon as we pulled up, first impressions count, we were not let disappointed in any way. The whole place was spick and span, nothing is too much trouble for them. Breakfast was very good. Will definitely book there again.

Decided to stay at a guest house instead of the normal hotel we have been to in previous years.(just so we could check out the local eateries). After trawling through many reviews I chose Thornleigh and was not disappointed at all. Very comfortable, clean, fabulous breakfast and every need met. Lovely hosts, Claire and David where nothing is too much....

Another fantastic relaxing weekend spent at the Thornleigh. Clare and David were as delightful as ever. Being northern its always a full english for breakfast, or cumbrian whilst here, but we were adventurous and the savoury stack and scrambled eggs and smoked salmon were delicious. Again, fantastic produce cooked and served perfectly. Once we are sorted with uni movements we...
