The Skiddaw Hotel ticked all the boxes for us: Located at the heart of Keswick with permit parking adjacent, a short walk to Derwentwater and a longer walk up Skiddaw starting right from the hotel. Comfortable, well decorated, well equipped clean room with King size bed and smart en-suite. All food was cooked and presented perfectly (best breakfast poached eggs...

This is one of those places I stay in on work trips I inwardly groan when I see where I'm booked. But sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised, and this was one of those. Situated in a central location in Keswick, this hotel benefits from having a public car park very close with guest passes. I was fortunate to be given a...

Stayed on a one night winter warmth break last Sunday. Reception staff friendly but needed to have a better knowledge of what the break included. Had to asked them to check and then when we returned to the hotel having parked the car, I spoke to a manager who agreed my understanding of what the break included was correct. Room...

... As I'd been wandering around Keswick and needed to sit down with the dog! We were welcomed into the conservatory area and it was very comfortable seating, being able to people watch from the windows. Had a tea and scone with cream and jam (I know, greedy). Was alright, no complaints at all. Perhaps overpriced, but then Keswick is...

On arrival we were pleased to find the hotel decorated for Christmas, The car park entrance to reception area was lovely with lots of lights and trees. Our rooms were recently refurbished, and had everything we needed. The food was very good although on...

We booked a night here on Saturday 12th November and were very disappointed. The rooms were way too hot and when we complained were offered a small fan as the heating couldn't be changed! In addition we upgraded out booking to include dinner....why o why did we bother??!!! The duck starter was 3 slivers of see-through dry duck and when...

I stayed there at the end of October. My room was directly across from the ladies toilet for the public bar. Constant noise from door slamming and hand drier. Through the night there was a constant fan from the neighbouring building, which is part of the same hotel chain. I had booked two nights but only stayed one. My arrival...

Dear Sir Thank you for staying with us recently. As you mentioned you did e-mail your complaint to the hotel 2 weeks ago. You also followed up your e-mail with a phone call on the same day. I apologised and discussed the matter with you, I also made you an offer which I assumed was accepted. Since we actually spoke...
