What a treat to stay with hosts Sandra and Ian! They are so nice. Sandra prepares a full (and I mean full) breakfast every morning..... Freshly laid eggs from their chickens, toast with jams and honey (from their bees), bacon, sausage, tomato, yogurt, fruit. You name it, it's there. While eating, enjoy the red squirrels trying to get every bit...

If you're walking the Cumbria Way this is an ideal overnight stop as it's right on the route. If you're looking for somewhere super to stay around Keswick you can't go wrong here. Tasty breakfasts, comfy beds, friendly hosts, wildlife galore in their extensive garden with red squirrels rummaging in the feeders on the patio while you enjoy breakfast.

Spooney Green was peaceful and laid back. Our room was lovely. I peaked at all the rooms and they are all lovely. Each is on the second floor looking out over Sandra and Ian's diverse gardens. There were a great variety of birds on the feeders placed all around the property and the red squirrel gave a star appearance each...

Spooney Green was recommended to us and we weren't disappointed. We stayed for a weekend and Ian and Sandra were perfect hosts. The room and En-Suite were superb - nicely decorated and very clean. Very nice touch to have a flask of fresh milk provided and tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room. Great to have a TV/DVD -...

Hi, I recently stayed in Keswick at the Spooney Green B&B for three nights, and it was a delightful stay. Sandra & Ian are exceptional hosts, and the accommodation was just great, not to mention the location. The 'old' converted farmhouse is located in a beautiful setting, beautifully landscaped garden, which brings in the wildlife, not forgetting a cheeky red...

Very friendly hosts, a beautiful setting, lovely room and quality breakfast. Homemade honey from their own bees and eggs from their own chickens on site. It is set alongside the Cumbria Way, so you could have breakfast and walk straight out of the house and up the path to Skiddaw.

We stayed at Spooney Green for 6 nights and we could have stayed longer. A delightful spotless cottage. just a short walk to Keswick town through a pleasant park.( Bring a torch for night time walks up the lane back to the cottage ) Nothing was too much trouble for Sandra and Ian, they made our stay very special. The...

Spooney Green happens to be the most wonderful B&B I have ever stayed in. My partner and I both fell in love with the place instantly. The house is beautiful, the gardens breathe taking and wildlife enchanting. If you love nature, gardening and stunning scenery you cannot go wrong. Its position is ideal just outside the town centre. It is...

“They are probably all good. There are not that many. It's a B&B, after all.”

“One room does not have a toilet and shower attached but it is just a few feet down the hall and is private to that room. If that bothers you, I would just make sure to ask for one of the others. The room furthest from the road probably has the best view but they all have nice views. Take a torch or flashlight if you walk back from town after dark.”
