dire, chose it because it was cheap and looked good in photo. I hope it's been refurbished now as the photo of it was nothing like the faded, crumbling building i stayed in. Toilet overflow directed into shower, running all night. Fan filled with dirt, cracked and odd tiles in shower, mouldy sealant, peeling wallpaper, unattentive breakfast staff who didn't...

Wanted a bed for the night nothing more nothing less. Found a single room for £35. Very pleasantly surprised that this also included breakfast! Blimey. Checked in at 4pm, friendly smiley lady on reception took payment and was chatty which is always nice. Took myself up to my room, bigger than i expected considering a single bed room. Bathroom (shower...

The County is a hotel from the past, right opposite the railway station and with all the comforts you would expect - except parking. Parking is available nearby at £5 per night. It is a short walk from the town centre where there are many restaurants and pubs. beware of the traffic jams in the morning. Go out northwards rather...

Just come back from a 3 day stay with National Holidays, this is a small and friendly hotel, we were the only coach there with just a few other guests. Our room 209 was excellent at the front of the hotel overlooking the road, there is a small lift but fully functioning, some of the decor a little tired but...

Stayed here for two nights, received a very warm welcome, yes the hotel does need a bit of decorating, however the room, bathroom, bedding, towels were all beautifully clean. The staff are extremely hard working and the manager, Michael is excellent, nothing is too much trouble for him. We had a lovely stay and will return if in the area...

Stayed here for a night about eighteen months ago. Came back for one night expecting improvements to the rooms but unfortunately bathrooms still badly in need of an upgrade. Cobwebs hanging from bedroom ceiling and window area needed plastering and painting. Single glazing didn't help keep the traffic noise out. On the positive side the meals and service were very...
