Stayed in May 2016. Tremendous stay. Steak pie was excellent, as was the banter at the bar and the beer! Great pub, great inn. Wouldn't hesitate to come again! Four of us stayed (2 couples). We all thought the atmosphere was great!

Called in after walking round the village for a drink and decided to have an early evening meal as this was the only place serving at 5 pm. Very friendly atmosphere , excellent hot food , a good selection of drinks ,and our young dog was made very welcome. Would recommend .

Lovely stay in this busy Lake District pub. Room was large, clean and comfortable although ensuite a tad small. Warm welcome and food good on the one night we ate there. Seemed very nice people and premises very dog friendly. Stayed on a two night voucher deal and extremely good value for money.

Having been turned away from the Sun Inn (because they'd decided to stop serving half an hour earlier than stated so they could clean the kitchen!), we were so pleased to find the Red Lion. Friendly and efficient service, fantastic proper home-cooked and tasty food - the best meal I'd eaten all week! Have been a frequent visitor to the...
