We had booked an evening meal and were so pleased with the food we went back the following evening. Surroundings were cosy, service was impeccable and the food was lovely. My first taste of quail and really enjoyed it. Can't wait to go back

Stayed in the family room for a last minute break. Room wonderful, staff extremely attentive, friendly and conscientious and food delicious (in particular the stunning breakfast which was included in the price of our room). Looking forward to a return visit in summer when we hope the weather will be a little kinder.

Another fantastic stay at The Queens. THis place is so relaxing. Rooms are spotless, comfy and warm. Breakfast is perfect and the lady serving breakfast (think her name was Vanessa) was lovely and nothing too much trouble for her. We had dinner in the Queens also which was also perfect. Can't wait to return. Thank you.

What a charming location for this beautiful hotel. My sister in-law and I had a very enjoyable weekend. Our room was delightful with a superb bathroom. The staff were very welcoming and we were offered a wide variety of dishes at breakfast including a glass of prosecco. The food was well presented and very tasty. I would definitely recommend The...

We have stayed here a few times previously, the last time being in 2009 but the place hasn't changed one bit apart from the rooms being very tastefully refurbished. It is still a lovely hotel with welcoming staff. Breakfast was excellent, the only downside was that the evening menu was nowhere near as extensive as on previous occasions - apart...

We stayed at the queens for the three night New Years celebration package. The food throughout was tasty and very well presented, even though every night was extremely busy. But what made our weekend unforgettable was the fist class staff, they are a shinning beacon to the much maligned British service industry. The previous poor comments seem to be about...

Just returned from a lovely stay at The Queens Head. We booked for overnight on the 30th December on the day itself as we wanted to get away on impulse after a hectic Christmas. We ended up staying a second night (New Years Eve) as another guest was taken ill on the 31st and we managed to extend our stay....

Just returned from a three-night stay at the Queens Head in Hawkshead. What a delightful old pub. The rooms were lovely, the beds comfortable, the housekeeping A1 the showers fantastic. The breakfasts scummy especially the smoked fish. The evening meals were excellent, I highly recommend the venison. The staff at this very busy pub are all first rate, helpful, considerate...

We went here for an evening meal. I had the pan fried sea bass which was delicious. The apple pie portion was huge as well. Lucky we decided to share the pudding at the end. The only disappointing part of our evening was when we went into book. They told us they were fully booked and could only squeeze us...
