A lovely fire and friendly staff greeted us. We hadn't booked so we're delighted to find a table. Having looked over the menu 4 of us all decided on Sunday Roasts. Due to the size of the tables and no difference in price if you went for a "share" roast or individual we all decided on individual dinners. However we... More

Called in for lunch to be greeted on arrival and sat next to a lovely open fire. Staff very efficient and professional. Not overbearing but checked with us at the right moments. Brought drinks to the table which was appreciated. Food was very good. One had the fish finger sandwich and one had the cod, both excellent.

This lovely dog friendly hotel does great food and drinks and is in the centre of a lovely little village well worth a visit if nearby. There are plenty of things to see and do in Hawkshead but lunch is definitely worthwhile her with freshly prepared god quality food and drinks and very goos service. highly recommended.

We love Hawkshead. It is an unspoilt lakeland treasure. We'd popped into the Queens Head several times in the past for food and drinks but never stayed. The room layout was smartly designed and stylish. The wife thought the shower wasn't powerful enough. It was hard to rinse the shampoo out of her hair.lol..Fantastic customer service and the food was as good as ever. The local... A very friendly Inn with staff who not only work very hard but who have a "can do" attitude, for example allowing us to check in an hour early because the room was ready. Breakfast is quite a high point, with fresh orange juice and a bottle of prosecco, and a notice suggesting one start the day with a bucks... More

Second visit to The Queen's Head - wonderful quaint location and wonderful hotel - we noted fellow comments before our trip that the food here is expensive - actually the prices are the same as other pubs and for us personally better quality so I would recommend eating here even if it's just once. The staff are lovely, incredibly friendly... More

An inviting hotel from the outside, we decided to go in for lunch and were glad we did! We were met with the aroma of mulled wine, which tasted as good as it smelt. Despite being very busy, the staff quickly found us a table. All the staff were polite, friendly and efficient. I had a venison burger and my... More

Having tried all 4 pubs in Hawkshead, the Queens Head was our favourite in terms of the atmosphere and overall dining experience. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the menu was an interesting mix of gastro pub type dishes and pizzas. Everything was delicious and we visited twice in a week. Unfortunately we weren't staying but the rooms... More

We had a lovely evening at the Queen's Head. It is very much an old English pub with low ceilings, open fire and a welcoming atmosphere. There was a whole range of people and dogs. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The menu is varied, catering for both children and adults. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and would consider... More
