I've just stayed here for a week with 21 others from our company. My room was spacious, clean and had a lovely big bathroom (possibly executive I'm not sure as I didn't book it - Room 10). Tea, coffee, water and shortbreads replaced daily which went down well! One thing that caught us out on the first night was last...

We stayed here for one night on our way back from Scotland to break up the long drive home. The hotel has large rooms which was great after being coupled up in the car. The manager was lovely and had lots of recommendations for the local area. Hotel could do with updating and the floor boards on the first floor...

Stayed at The Swan with 5 girl friends for a few days walking. It rained the whole time but that didn't deter us. It would have been great if the Drying Room had been in operation as we had a lot of wet clothes! However, Cynthia managed to find us some clothes hangers so we could hang wet clothes in...

We spent 5nights at Swan Hotel. The room was overlooking hillsides ,fells, and immaculate gardens. Couldn't have asked for better. The food was excellent, with a good choice. Not a huge choice but everything we tried was tasty and well cooked. But best of all were the staff. I have never stayed anywhere that had such a happy, helpful and...

Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms, excellent food in the restaurant, delightful staff and views to die for. Close enough to Ambleside, Keswick and Windermere to allow easy access yet far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. Just a couple of minutes walk into Grasmere village which had lots of interesting things to look at. Excellent gardens at the hotel...

Had a meal in the bar. Food was very good and staff were lovely. Reason for 3* is that the bar itself was a bit dark and dingy and the seats were pretty uncomfortable. There are lots of other rooms to sit in, but it was pretty busy.

Dear CookaDuck so glad you enjoyed your food and that the staff looked after you. Am disappointed that you felt the bar seats uncomfortable as the staff would have been more than happy to have changed chairs or got a cushion for you regards Antony

Room ok. Beer great. Staff good. Burger good. Starter not great. Chunky chips good. Shower not good. Scenery great. Basic food in the restaurant. Was expecting something more refined. Overall a fantastic location with a great manager. Breakfast ok. Bacon too salty for me. Bar area good.

We stay in the four poster double bed room which has a beautiful view outside the window. The hotel service is excellent and the best. The food for dinner and breakfast also delicious. It is very close to Gasmere village that takes 7 minutes walk from the hotel. We do recommend this hotel. Only one point of this hotel lack...

This hotel is right off the road, with easy walking or driving into town. The rooms are big and charming, and the updated bathrooms are likewise charming. Sorry we onlly had one night in this stop in the Lake District. The breakfast and dinner service was excellent, and the food was so good.

The hotel is located within walking distance of a variety of activities. It was nice to be welcomed upon check in by the manager. There are a variety of areas within the hotel where once can relax. The rooms are located on multiple levels but the directions are clearly marked. The staff is enthusiastic and eager to be helpful.
