The Grasmere Red Lion is even better now the hotel has under taken a refurbishment, the refurb is still an ongoing project but what a difference it's made, fantastic. The bedrooms are so different with new furniture and decoration, they are a pleasure to stay in and the bathrooms, those that have been done, are top notch. All downstairs communal...

Stayed here for a long weekend, our first visit to the Lake District. Why did we leave it soo long ! The scenery was spectacular. If you have never been to the Lake District you must come, you will not regret it. The Red Lion in Grasmere is perfectly located as it is about 8 miles from Windermere, so the...

We booked a superior room which far exceeded our expectations with it's little sitting room overlooking the fields opposite. the decor of the whole hotel is very appropriate to the lake district, neutral colours, smart but not too posh. We loved it. A great location to, right in the centre of the village. The only slight issue for us was...

We stayed at the Red Lion Hotel during our Coast to Coast trip. The lift was a highlight, having had to lug bags up and down stairs prior to staying there. Very comfortable beds, nice bathroom, and lovely evening meal. Good breakfast, and friendly staff

Grasmere is such a cute little town in the lakes and the Red Lion is right in the centre of the village. Rooms are very nice - gives you an English country side feel! It's clean and comfy. Bathroom is very small and shower can be a bit temperamental. Restaurant provides very nice food despite the staff giving you a...
