We had lunch at the Black Bull Inn after a walk. Very tasty food and good selection. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of all the dishes our table ordered. Good fish & chips; great garlic mushrooms and fishcakes. A very decent address.

Visited on a Saturday about 4. Staff not very interested or friendly shame . Place looks dated and old needs a face lift. Saw someone drinking from a kronenburg took a sensible assumption they sold it asked for a pint bluntly told no don't sell it given what I assume was dregs of larger with a bit of gas in....

...and that was the last time it was decorated, a way of celebrating the success. Talk about trading on past laurels. It's not as if Bluebird bitter is in any way exceptional any more; it is an ok beer but in any competition now it would be an also ran. Unfortunately, that is all this pub can celebrate. The Black...

Stopped for a late lunch after a trip out on the SY Gondola. Been a fan of the Brewery for a while, so chuffed to finally get to visit. Didn't disappoint. Place was busy, but service was good and quick, food excellent and the ale outstanding! Love a place that pretty much only serves what's brewed on the premises!

We went to Coniston camping over the easter weekend so it was probably busier than normal and as the weather was not particularly good, it seemed everybody was visiting the place. We called in on the Friday afternoon for drinks, but after waiting over 10 minutes and still a full bar with people in front of us to be served,...

A welcoming pub with character, hearty food and a brewery attached - what more do you want! Log fires, snoozing mutts in cosy corners and a very decent combination of in house Coniston brewery ales and guest beers. Haven't been there before but will certainly go there again.

Friendly staff in authentic village pub. Very good bar food day and evening. The beer of course is fabulous being the Coniston Brewery as well - great selection and home of the famous bluebird ale, one of many great beers brewed here !. Looking forward to returning and staying next time.

A great traditional pub with fantastic ales brewed on site. A real must visit, especially after trecking 'the old man'! Food was great and reasonably priced and the inn has a good homely feel to it. If you're looking for a traditional pub with a great quality pint, you'll have come to the right place here.

We called in after a cold walk and found the pub to be very welcoming, with a good choice of food that all seemed freshly cooked. We ended up going back a few times whilst in Coniston for the week and will definitely go back again. Their own Bluebird beers are excellent and they had a good selection of beers...
