Amazing stay of my parents during 4 nights. Even with the delayed flight, they helped them to reach the hotel by taxi and they didnt have any problem to wait for them very late. Nice and confy room. In front of the bus stop and the sight of the window is the Old Man of Coniston and more mountains. Very... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night as we wanted to do some cycling. Lovely, clean accommodation. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was spot on. The B&B is in a perfect central spot with private parking.

From our past experiance most of the B&Bs in the Lakes appear to have last been refurbished in the 70s, so our expectations were not that high. However, Meadowdore proved to be the exception. Our room and the en-suite looked to have been recently refurbished as the decor and all fittings and fixtures were in good condition. Plenty of tea... More

Stayed at the Meadowdore for a long weekend, the room & ensuite were exceptionally clean and the bed comfortable. Staff are welcoming and friendly. There was a lovely view from the window. Plenty of tea, coffee etc in the room. I would certainly recommend the Meadowdore.

We got a lovely, friendly welcome when we arrived to check in. The room was compact but clean, warm and comfortable and the ensuite looked as though it had recently been refurbished. The shower water pressure wasn't brilliant but the water was always nice and hot. Breakfast was very good - choice of cereals followed by a full English, toast,... More

We arrived having done a 15 mile walk from Ulverston and were feeling fed up because of the last 4.5 hours walking in driving rain. Needless to say, we arrived dripping wet. We were given a warm welcome and Frances took our wet clothes and dried them for us. Nothing was a problem to her. The en-suite room was well... More

When we go hiking in this area we always stop here for an ice cream. It's the best place ever, and reasonably priced. I haven't had a meal here yet but I have seen meals being served and they look very appetising. It's a little gem of a place.

Frances gave us a cheery, friendly welcome to her cafe/B&B. The ensuite room wasn't large but was clean and looked as if it had been recently refurbished (the shower room was particularly nice). Residents can enter/leave the building by a side door, you don't need to go through the cafe. Breakfast is Basic British, and mixed quality: full marks for... More

Great location in the centre of Coniston. We were lucky to get a parking space right outside, and did not move the car for 3 days! Stayed in the ground floor room, had the biggest bed that was really comfy. Excellent hospitality tray, and nice toiletries in the shower room. Breakfast was more that sufficient, we had to scale it... More
