My second visit this year and the standards are as good as they ever were. The room was good, the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast is managed by pleasant hard working staff and the receptionists are excellent. I recommend any of the egg based breakfasts to everyone.

We recently stayed here in a family room with 2 young children. From the moment we arrived we had a positive impression - the hotel is decorated beautifully, very clean, and the reception staff were so warm and friendly. They showed us to our room which was large and very nice, with the extras exactly as we had requested (baby...

Arrived at the hotel check in was quick and easy, rooms are spacious as are the ensuite bathroom's. Nice modern bar area with superb afternoon tea! I'm sure the outside gardens by the river would be super on a bright sunny day but it was a little cold during my visit. The wedding took place in the former house of...

Stayed here as part of a birthday surprise weekend away. Easy to find and excellent secure parking onsite. The Trout is a warren of small rooms linked by narrow corridors – I thought we would have problems finding our way around but actually it was easier than anticipated. Quick check-in and shown to our room which was through the Bistro...

This hotel is situated on the banks of the River Derwent and next door to Wordsworth's former home which is now a museum dedicated to him. I have stayed here twice and can thoroughly recommend it. The rooms are modern and luxurious especially the ones overlooking the river.

We had the opportunity to stay at the Trout last week end and found the accommodation to be perfect, this was further enhanced by an excellent meal in the Derwent, the Gravlaks were fantastic, my wife's fillet steak succulent and tender well done to the chef. A very good full breakfast before leaving,we will definitely return thank you

Quiet night at the hotel on a wet and windy February evening. Staff very welcoming and treated us to a private room for the party of ten that we were. Food choices were excellent as was the food when served - hot and fresh and good choices. Very pleasant staff and we were looked after well by the manager, service...
