Lovely hotel, great location. Very central with all attractions and a walk up Wansfell in close proximity. Great rooms, very large bathroom - both lovely and warm with a huge radiator - the temperature of which we could regulate ourselves. The breakfast was nice; however,...More
Booked this at the last minute and it was excellent- there was nothing to fault. Stayed for one night in “Daffodils” room, which was one of four in the basement. The room was beautifully appointed and decorated and was very spacious. It was spotless and...More

It is a lovely area to stay. Short walk along from Lakes Lodge to Ambleside shops, plenty of places to eat out. Several pubs and inns nearby. We stayed a few days and went on the boat cruise on Windermere, there are several trips to choose from, short or longer ones- we enjoyed this and stopped off at Bowness on Windermere for a coffee. The pier is also a fairly short walk from Lakes Lodge,,they also have discount tickets for the boat.
There are lots of places to visit nearby, depending on what interests they have. Staff are only too ready to help and there are leaflets to read.
We also went for the day to Kendall which was lovely some quaint shops with a choice of places to eat.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed it.
