In January I brought my partner here for our anniversary weekend, we travelled up after work one night and unfortunately missed out on what we found the following morning to be some beautiful scenery. We didn't make that mistake this time, a beautiful clear day made a perfect excuse to book in at the Brimstone Spa after a long days...

My girlfriends daughter wanted to come for a massage at the Brimstone spa for her birthday but unfortunatly you need to be staying at the hotel to use those facilities, We did manage to go to another hotel for the massage but we did come back later in the evening for a meal at the Stove Restaurant, And that was...

I had expected a hotel, what we got was a site that contained 2 sets of accommodation - Langdale rooms in a block on their own and the Brimstone rooms - in another block and then a central block that contains a bar/restaurant and the leisure centre. So to me the place had no heart - there are also chalets...

We didn't actually stay at this hotel as we were stopping in Windermere but we phoned up beforehand to see if we could use the spa facilities in the evening. We spent most of our walking Helvellyn so it was really good that we could use the facilities later on. The separate spa pool wasn't working but we didn't mind....

Just returned from our second stay here, and must say was just as good as the first time. In a beautiful setting in the delightful village of Elterwater, this hotel is perfect for exploring the the Langdales fells. So many wonderful walks on the doorstep. The food in the Stove Restaurant is fantastic, although I was disappointed the steak and...

We loved our stay at at Langdale, despite the rain. The room was lovely and it was amazing being able to walk straight from the room. Despite an amazing breakfast in the morning, on the second day, they had run out of vegetarian sausages! The spa treatments are pricy (I think) but fantastic and I would really recommend them.

Great modern hotel accommodation and facilities. Real quality food and wine and good attention to detail. The service was very good and the location was perfect for walks with lake and mountain views. Hope to get back there sometime

Stayed in our timeshare lodge but used the new Stove restaurant / bar which is now excellent. The menu caters for all tastes, the staff are great - Martine, Ross, Emma, Gary deserve special mention. The is simply nothing not to like about this place. Can't wait to return later in the year and can't recommend this place highly enough.

Having had an exceptionally good experience at Langdale two years ago we did the unthinkable and returned (we are not creatures of habit). Overall we were not disappointed and we'll return but like any good sequel, it did not quite live up to our first experience, although still excellent. The complex is extremely impressive, flanked by mountains and hillsides with...

Stayed 2 nights over a weekend and booked one of the 'Ultimate Rooms' which are located above the Stove restaurant. The room was quiet, with no real view. It was very comfortable and beautifully decorated but the bathroom could use a little attention to the decor and our towel rail refused to heat up. The staff were all fabulous -...
