We booked Riverside after seeing the reviews on Tripadvisor and it fully lived up to expectation. The location is beautiful and is an easy walk into Ambleside. We stayed here for a weekend break. We stayed in room 2 which has a four-poster bed, jacuzzi bath and a sitting area looking out on the river. David was a wonderful host, giving information about walks and places to eat. Breakfast was yummy-especially the homemade bread and preserves. Would love to return.

We wanted a high quality, cosy retreat to come back to after a long day out in the hills and we were not disappointed. The hotel is small and intimate with a level of thoughtfulness and service that is very rare these...
