Having heard about the Drunken Duck through word of mouth I made sure to get a reservation a month in advance of our trip to Ambleside. The location is idyllic, but it's a drive from Ambleside itself (10 mins). The pub is lovely and service good, but we found the food itself disappointing. The menu wasn't that appealing (limited choice...

Our two day special winter break was welcome. The food is excellent with quality ingredients for both dinner and breakfast. There are two fairly intimate dining rooms close by the open kitchen. The bar is warm and friendly with an open fire and a selection of their own beers and an extensive wine list. Bottles of their own draught beers...

We stayed at the Drunken Duck for my partners birthday and it was absolute luxury. The kitchen was being renovated but this didn't impact at all. We arrived and were shown to our room which was one of the garden rooms. It was lovely and warm and very comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with underfloor heating, a stand alone bath...

Just returned from our heaven on earth stay at the most fabulous inn/guesthouse! The Drunken Duck never fails to impress, this is our second visit and it was every bit as good, even with the kitchen works being completed. Fantastic food, friendly staff, beautiful rooms and the most gorgeous location! Included is use of the Langdale Spa which was the...

We have stayed at the Drunken Duck many times now and each and everytime we enjoy it more and more. The last time we went was over the Christmas break. We found their winter deals via the website which included lunch, evening meal and breakfast and afternoon tea the next day. It was a very reasonable price for such a...

We had seen the Drunken Duck some time ago online and had planned to visit someday. Our plans were spurred to action by the fact the Drunken Duck is currently refurbishing their kitchen and offered an extremely reasonable discounted rate to anyone who wanted to stay their during refurbishment and accept the fact that the hot food menu would be...

My boyfriend booked The Drunken Duck as a surprise for Boxing Day based on a recommendation and we were both very happy with the quality of accommodation, service and food we received during our stay. Unlike other hotels I’ve stayed in the Lake District our room was modern, spacious and finished to a high standard – with a great bathroom!...

We stayed for a 2 night mini break with another couple. Being regular visitors to The Lakes we have stopped at many local establishments, and eaten at many local restaurants. The Drunken Duck was highly recommended and carries a hefty reputation for its food and drinks. It had a lot to live up to. Which it did, with ease. The...

We popped into the Drunken Duck on New Years Day for a spot of lunch and I must say its a great little place to have lunch I just wished we had stayed longer! We only had the Soup but I must say it was fantastic and they have a great selection of local ales. It was extremely busy but...

Visited The Drunken Duck for an evening meal with my family following rave reviews from friends. It was a faultless dining experience. The Inn has a welcoming cosy atmosphere with a log fire and a wide selection of nice beers. Our table for 4 was extremely spacious and the service was both friendly and efficient, setting the tone for the...
