Just popped in for a drink. Too full to eat but the Food Menu looked fabulous. Excellent range of beers from the Micro Brewery on site and friendly bar staff. Very popular with walkers as Tarn How is nearby. Accommodation is available and I would...More
Had a lovely room over the pub facing the buildings at the back. We were situated above the kitchen but you wouldn't have noticed as there wasn't much noise or cooking smells. Was lucky as housemartins were nesting under the roof and were great to...More
After a walk in the morning, called for lunch. It's always a pleasure to go to The Drunken Duck and this was no exception. My husband pork gumbo was perfect, and my option, the vegan chana masala was divine. My husband even said he will...More

We dined her for several nights during our visit and found the service to be polite and friendly, not too long to wait (even though each night it was very busy), food was excellent (every course) and portion sizes were not huge but certainly didn't leave you hungry! The menu would be limited if you don't like fancy food- If you're looking for simple food you may struggle. But it isn't a pub meal-it's quality food and ingredients put together well in an adventurous manner. The price reflects this and it's no more expensive that any other quality eatery around Ambleside or the Lakes.
