We have just come back from a beautiful weekend in Ambleside. This is the second time we've stayed at this wonderful B&B which is situated in a great location very central close to all amenities. The rooms are immaculate, breakfasts delicious with plenty of choice in a lovely dining area with wonderful views. Ethna is a great host always friendly...

This is the second time we've stayed in this wonderful B&B and i'm sure we'll be back again. The bedroom was very clean and had everything we required during our stay. The en-suite was also very clean with plenty of toiletries should we require them. Ethna is a very friendly host and is more than happy to give advice on...

We stayed for a three nights during the half term break. We were made to feel very welcome. The room was very comfortable and all is very clean and well maintained, the breakfast was great! Excellent location, just two minutes walk into the centre of Ambleside. Will be booking for my family for a short stay to celebrate my 60th...

Excellent B&B located in Ambleside which is central for all The Lake District. This is the best B&B my husband and myself have stayed at either in The Lake District or anywhere else. Our stay there certainly enhanced our few days away in The Lakes. The room we stayed in was small but adequate with an En-suite. Very clean and...

This B&B was just ok, and ii have to be honest. It looks a bit tired outside and was expecting a bit more. It has 3 rooms and the double we had was so very tiny it was really difficult to get around. I know it is just a place to sleep and change but It is clearly NOT a...

We had a brilliant stay at the Barnes Fell B&B. The hosts were absolutely great - very helpful and generally a good laugh. Breakfasts were tasty and used local produce. The room was beautiful as well - spotlessly clean, with incredible views. Can't rate it highly enough! Would definitely stay again if we return.

Truly amazing experience. Ethna was wonderful. We only had plans sorted out for the first day before arrival, and from talking to us, she was able to recommend things to do on our second and third days that was to our liking. On the second day, we did the Lake Windermere cruise, starting from Ambleside, stopping in Bowness for a...

This was the first break we'd had in a year and our stay at Barnes Fell only added to a well needed relaxing and restful break. The room was very clean, tidy, warm and comfortable. The breakfast has a wide choice and is delicious. The B&B is only a few minutes walk from Ambleside shops, pubs, restaurants and local transport...

This is a wonderful B'n'B. We stayed in Loughrigg - a beautiful room with fantastic views. The bathrobes were a lovely touch. Nice sized room, comfortable bed and fabulous breakfast. The host - Ethna- is lovely. Very informative, helpful, friendly and funny. The BnB is a short walk into town and Ambleside pier. So glad we stayed here rather than...
