George and Val couldn't do enough for us. They were very attentive and helpful throughout. We arrived early at 1145am, very weary after the drive up, Val made us a pot of tea and we sat by the fire until our room was ready shortly after. That was very much appreciated and needed after the long drive. The room (no.1)...

Thank for your comments and Val and I try to make our guests visit as comfortable as possible. All our food for breakfast is sourced locally and cooked to order so nothing has been under a heat lamp or in the oven for 30 minutes before it is served. Shame you did not mention the room temp when you were...

Excellent upmarket guest house, very friendly hosts (but not over-friendly), clean, warm and comfortable surroundings plus a great bacon sandwich for breakfast. Good for parking and a short stroll from the centre of Ambleside. I'm sure we'll be back.

We arrived at Red Bank at 10.30pm on a filthy rainy night, having decided that camping just wasn't going to happen, especially after hours of delays on the M6. Everything after this made up for our discomfort, from the cheery welcome that we received to the luxury of the Red Bank double room with en suite, complete with aromatherapy treats,...

Great you had a good stay with us and yes camping on the night you arrived would not have been ideal. All our food is sourced locally and cooked to order so the breakfast should be great. This is backed up by the many complements we receive on the quality of our breakfasts. Hope to see you again in the...

We have been returning to Red Bank for many years simply because it delivers everything we want. It is a beautiful B&B in a great location with lovely rooms. Val and George are great hosts; they are always helpful and provide a great breakfast to start the day. What more could you want!

Pleased you enjoyed your stay with us again. Val takes a great pride in her freshly cooked breakfasts to order, which is why, occasionally, you may have to wait a few extra minutes for the breakfast but it is well worth the wait. Thanks again for your comments and we look forward to seeing you both in the New Year.

My wife and I, with various friends, have been staying 1 or 2 times a year for the last 8 years, which in itself speaks volumes about Red Bank. Simply put, Val and George , the hosts, run the best guest house in Ambleside; well,OK we haven't stayed in every establishment in Ambleside but if there are any better then...
