With one thing and another it has been quite a while since we last stayed here. Thankfully they had a room available my birthday weekend, so we snapped it up. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed back and it felt like we had never been away. The high standards as expected, have been retained. For us it is...

Just had 3 night stay at this B&B. Great location for visiting the lakes and a few minutes stroll into Ambleside for evening food and drinks. Windermere just 15 minute walk to the head of the lake. Elder Grove is very welcoming, has great breakfast selection and nice clean cosy rooms. Would recommend without hesitation.

Elder Grove is one of a kind, it is the most beautiful, comfortable, relaxing and welcoming place I have ever stayed. The accommodation is beautifully designed and every little detail has been thought about from the quality of the linen, the products in the bathroom to the fresh coffee available in the rooms and all the other little touches that...

Having visited 5 years ago,and how we were so impressed then, we just had to return. We were not disappointed. The quality and attention to detail are superb. This is without doubt the most comfortable guest house we have ever stayed at. Our room (5) was spacious and had the added bonus of a sofa. The guest lounges are ideal...

Spacious rooms with decent views out the back of Ambleside. Comfy beds and good bathrooms! The landowners were welcoming and friendly! A hearty breakfast in the morning with plenty of choice! Would recommend to family and friends! Would revisit!

Excellent standard of accommodation and top notch breakfast each morning. Rooms very comfortable, spotlessly clean and warm. Lovely lounge areas which were very cosy to come back to after an evening meal for a nightcap. Food exceptional, locally sourced, and served fresh to your table. Lovely hosts, friendly but not intrusive. We had a power cut during our stay and...

We stayed for daughters birthday and booked a double room and a single room. We were really surprised at the low cost of the rooms, compared to others we have stayed in, in the local areas, especially as Elder grove was as good if not better. Both rooms were a good size with really good quality facilities, good range of...

Came in Easter and just had to come again. My boyfriend has been with family many times over the years and now we come together. Such cosy and beautiful rooms, beds are comfy and bathrooms are pristine. Breakfasts are top notch and would definitely recommend buying some of the homemade marmalade and jams. Lovely owners too.
