You might think this kind of place had gone, but Hull shows it hasn't. Scrupulously comfortable and clean, welcoming , well-located. The style of an old country house married to contemporary levels of cleanliness and convenience. --- And lovely food.

I recently stayed here and the service was excellent and the food was good too. The only downside was the view from my room - the wall of the building next door. I arrived in the evening so it was already dark but even the next morning when the sun was shining the room was pitch black as there is...

This hotel is an absolute gem. It is family run, and good service is obviously top of their list. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. The two women who do the breakfast service deserve a special mention. They are outstanding. The hotel is not right in the centre so is quiet but is only 10 minutes walk from the...

I want a cleaner in my house! This hotel was extremely well maintained. The chamber maids were diligent, friendly and ' house-proud'. Breakfast was delightful- self served for starters then freshly cooked to order mains- service implacable.( perhaps more fruit should be available with natural yogurt?) Comfy beds and easily regulated heat/fresh air in good sized room.Congratulations to all staff for...

We recently spent a night here as a birthday treat for my husband. From the minute we walked through the door we were made to feel very welcome by the lovely staff. We stayed in Room 4, a Junior Suite. The room was lovely, warm, clean and spacious with a wonderful Super King Sized bed which was extremely comfortable. We...

We recently stayed for three nights and will definitely stay again when visiting Hull. The room was a good size, spotless and with a lovely view over the roof tops (3rd floor). Every single member of staff behaved as though they were pleased to have you staying and went out of their way to help. Breakfast was reasonable and there...

One night with mother in wheel chair. She can walk a little, so used the 12 steps up to reception. Disabled access is by ringing the bell at the function room, 2 steps down & up in the lift. They said they had a portable ramp for the old Victorian building. Evening meal was excellent with lots of it too....

Stayed for 1 night on a visit to Hull. Was made very welcome on arrival. Lovely large room with nice view of the square and in a very quiet but good location for the town centre. We had a minor problem during our stay - not the fault of the hotel - and they were very helpful sorting this out...

After four visits, I think I can say honestly that this is really quite a good hotel. Doesn't sound enthusiastic? That's enthusiasm from me! I stay in a lot of places. First time I was there, back in November 16, I said it was great but that I was cold and that the hotel had to review its heating policy....
