We had a family birthday celebration here. The booking process was shambolic and overly convoluted but once we were actually at the hotel, all of the staff were great, particularly our waiter for the meal itself. We had the four course Sunday brunch and it was all fine, but not as tasty as I was hoping. The food was underseasoned... More

This was our second visit to Hotel du Vin and the absolutely delightful receptionist Maria greeted us so warmly and showed us to our charming room the Freixenet which was a very kind upgrade. The room was beautiful and as with this hotel had delightful quirky character. There is a chaise long in the bathroom which was a first for... More

Great hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. We had a fantastic breakfast and the omelette Arnold Bennett was delicious! Our bathroom could do with a lick of paint but the shower was powerful and there were nice finishing touches (bathrobes, slippers, Ren toiletries). Mattress was very comfy and I slept really well.

We were visiting Tunbridge Wells for a couple of days and booked for one night at Hotel Du Vin & Bistro. We had read the Tripadvisor reviews and they seemed to support the £180 B & B pricetag. Sadly, the reality is that The Hotel Du Vin is rather brash and lacking in style. We were, unexpectedly, upgraded to 'The... More

The staff is helpful. The room itself was quite nice and comfy but the lack of electric plugs in this day and age is inexcusable. I had to work on the floor to use my phone while it was charging as the electric plug was far away from the bed. Everything else was very good.

I stayed in hotel du vin as was getting married nearby ..we had the most beautiful room and cannot fault the staff for their attentiveness and politeness .. Nothing was too much trouble and any requests were acted on straight away. If I were to find a negative it would be the parking, otherwise I would have rated it excellent.

Bistro restaurant! Came for a lunch beautiful dining room, wonderful ambiance. Shown to a table by a charming 'Manager' and proceeded to order food and drinks. Very expensive but as a family treat we were prepared to pay. It appears here the gentlemen are served first - most unusual - for this type of establishment. Drinks and meals served in... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells is set in one of the town's architectural landmarks, a Grade II-listed sandstone mansion built as a private residence in 1762. We have retained its authentic detail carefully, adding our unique touch to the 34 bedrooms with antiques and memorabilia. Guests can enjoy a game of boules, dining on the garden terrace with its wonderful views across Calverley Park, or a wander through the hotel's very own vineyard. BEDROOMS: Housed within this impressive building are 34 timelessly styled bedrooms and stunning suites, all featuring luxurious handsprung mattresses, fine Egyptian linen, deep baths and powerful drench showers, plasma TVs, DVDs and air conditioning. BISTRO: Open all week, and under the tutelage of head chef Daniel McGarey, Bistro du Vin is at the heart of our hotel, a classic, French styled, elegant and informal setting for lunch, dinner, to meet, celebrate or simply pass the time. Dine on the finest produce the Kent has to offer from local heroes such as herbs and seasonal vegetables from local nursery chef's herbs, meat from Woodlands Farm and fish from Chapman's of Sevenoaks. These are only a handful of the suppliers included within our homegrown & local philosophy. ... more   less
