I felt at home as soon as I entered this beautiful hotel. Like entering someone's home from a past time. The very comfortable sofas in front of a roaring log fire with a drink from the private bar was icing on the cake. The rooms are quirky with comfortable beds with crisp pure cotton sheets and very large soft towels....

Wonderful charming hotel, with sea views. Greeted by the charming and ever helpful Dave. Really enjoyed the choice of lounge areas and honesty bar. Excellent breakfast. Room was cute and beautifully decorated. Looking forward to returning.

I was at the hotel for my cousin's 90th birthday. I have never experienced such kindness from hotel staff. I walk with a stick and had been given a room on the first floor. I was offered a ground floor room instead, I hadn't even asked. It was such a kind thing and I did appreciate it. Nothing was too...

This is a little gem of a hotel. Very well run by people who care about it. It is the little touches that make the difference- open fires, gramophone, a library, honesty bar, cheese and bikkies, the list goes on. My only complaints would be that the walls were a bit thin and the mattress was probably past its best...

Great location, fantastic breakfast, lovely staff, relaxing lounges. The room was spacious and quiet. The bed so comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend. The only thing I would say are the rooms are looking a bit tatty and could do with a bit of a spruce up.

I nned to have a room here permanently. I have stayed here three times whilst on business trips and I can honestly say it's the friendliest hotel I've ever come across. The staff are all wonderfully courteous and helpful. The food? Oh my god the food! Just go there and eat! Glad I don't live close as I would be...
