Stayed here while working at Southampton boat show. The hotel is a lovely old building with some nice character, seems that it could do with some investment as it is starting to look a little tired. The biggest problem is no air con in room, and my room overlooked loads of extractors so couldn't have the window open due to...

Excellent location. Within easy walking distance of shops, museums, restaurants. Plenty of parking at rear in private car park.(£5 per 24 hours.). Leave main entrance turn right two minutes walk to all the shops you can want. Turn left instead three minutes walk to Oxford road for dozens of restaurants - English, French, Italian , Chinese, Thai take your pick....

From the reception one can see that it is really tired-looking and haven't seen a refurb for long. You don't feel like you are entering a real Accor hotel. Hallways are very confusing, creaky noise when you walk inside the room. When we entered the room, there was a terrible sewer smell coming from the total poor quality bathroom. Even...

We tried the new afternoon tea package in the Signature Restaurant. Our dietry requirements were considered and there were no concerns on the day, the sandwiches having been creatively altered. It was really tasty and portions were generous! The service was great and personal. I would definitely recommend this package to friends. Thank you for a really special afternoon.

Helpful, friendly staff, badly let down by the poor quality accommodation. Our room for the 1st night was an upgrade to a suite, 1st impression was good, but on closer examination, the decor was very tired looking, the shower head dirty, the bath panel a thin piece of plywood and cracks in walls. Also no power sockets in the bedroom...

From a terrible start to a reasonable outcome. The first room we had was so far from the reception area over many different flights of stairs that we wondered where we were. The room was horrible. I recently stayed here on a work trip. During my stay I found the staff very helpful. Unfortunately, my room was at the front of the hotel and subsequently very, very noisy. The bathroom was tired and the shower was very poor.
