What a great stay, room was clean spacious. Staff were all friendly, helpful and happy in their work, breakfast was fabulous. We mentioned at reception that the guest in the next room was coughing Loudly, we were moved to another room straight away no problem. People at this hotel go out of their way to be helpful. We would definitely...

This hotel was quite nice. A warm welcome was received. The breakfast was all you can eat and was very nice and tasty. The rooms were clean and decorated nicely too. Perhaps the surrounding area like the stairwells and corridors are indeed of some TLC. Plenty of parking and only a brisk walk away from Southampton city centre. Just around...

went to Southampton to see a band and thought would make a weekend of it. Stayed at The Highfield House Hotel. Easy to find nicely placed for City Centre and very close to the University. Very friendly lady on reception. Quirky layout to hotel all passages . Room very good size light and very clean. Could do with a bit...

I arrived early, a little before 2pm and my room was ready. The wi-fi was free and good. In contrast the TV was analogue with a digibox plugged in the back as a result of which it stuck out from the wall and I gashed my head on it. The bathroom was ok with nice hot water. No tissues provided....

I've stayed at this hotel several times over the last couple of months. The plus points are: good location (especially for the university) and free parking; close to several restaurants and a huge Sainsbury; very friendly staff; more individuality than a chain budget hotel; clean rooms; good buffet breakfast (though wish they provided scrambled egg rather than just fried) and...

A very last minute booking after being at hospital all day and again the following day. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Made us at home and went out their way to make me comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. I will definately stay here again and thanks to the team for helping me at a hard time!

Really nice bed and breakfast establishment. Rooms were spotlessly clean, staff were very friendly. Small problem with our shower, but they changed our room with no problem and no fuss. Great location for where we were going. Beautiful breakfast, fresh and hot from the buffet in a spacious well appointed dining room. Good quality bacon and sausages. All in all...

It's now 2years since my last visit. The hotel needs a makeover. Carpets worn, paint chipped, etc. Still clean and comfortable. No eggs at breakfast?????. Flooded carpark. It's lost its edge. Still it's in a good location.

Visiting our son at the Uni, we decided to stay here as it looked a convenient being close to both the Uni and shops/restaurants. We are glad we did. Comfortable, clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, free car parking and great breakfast. Initially concerned by busy road right outside our window but no worry as it all went very quiet...

The moment I walked into the Highfield House Hotel, I thought OK this looks good, especially having only paid £50 for the night (including Breakfast). The front staff were courteous and informal which I liked. I had booked a double room and on entering all looked clean and tidy and well kept. TV was a little dated but hey it...
