Stayed here for a few days to do some academic research and it proved a great base for the university, city centre and excellent for the historic dockyard as it's literally next door. The room was nice with all the expected amenities and plenty of tea/biscuits, not one or two of everything like you find in most hotels. Also included...

The booking was made and confirmed by the hotel mid December 2016. In mid January 2017 we have arrived to find that we do not have a room for 2 nights, but we can have it for a night if we want, as there is another booking for the second night. Meaning they preferred to honor the reservation made later...

Dear Pavlo K I am so sorry to hear that we were unable to honour your reservation. Please accept my heartfelt apology. Due to pure human error your reservation was put in the wrong date 14th February. I am sorry, but we did not realize that you were in for the Saturday and Sunday night. Due to mistakenly thinking that...

We had a 2 night stay here, it is a perfect location to stay for a visit to the Dockyards. The pub itself is warm and welcoming and obviously a popular spot for locals. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were at the back of the pub so there was no bar noise, just a bit of...

A very pleasant little place near the dockyard that I stayed in for one night whilst travelling. Parking was easy and the dockyards are a walk away if you fancy a look around. Close enough to shops and local attractions

My wife and I stayed at The George Hotel for 1 night on our final day vacationing in the UK. We often visit the Historic Dockyards in Portsmouth as we love naval history. The George was a nice clean place to stay at a reasonable price for the area. Parking was across the street in a garage which the hotel...

We had an early morning ferry crossing so booked the George, parking is directly opposite the hotel in the historical dock lands car park, if you leave early make sure you get you parking ticket validated at the car park ticket office as it will save you £5 on your parking bill. The other reason we booked the George was...

On a recent visit to Portsmouth I decided on this establishment as it was close to the Naval Dockyard. It was a good choice as I had stayed there a few years ago. The room I had was at the back of the building which suited me. The only one drawback which I did know before I booked and that...

Stayed here just the one night ,as on 2 day visit to the excellent Historic Dockyard. Eveything was good-room spacious ,bed comfort excellent .Enjoyed evening meal & breakfast in pub - but above all else all staff were friendly & cheerfull -which enhanced our stay. Bar was what a pub should be-busy ,friendly & everyone upbeat. THANKS

Room 6, at the front of the hotel was not what I expected unfortunately. It could have been much better. The shower was horrible, black mould around the tile edges, easily remedied. The toilet was smelly, easily remedied. The two curtains were coming off the hooks, easily remedied. The windows rattled when a heavy vehicle passed by, not so easily...
