We stayed at this hotel for a family wedding. The location is extremely good, the staff friendly, and the food in the restaurant was adequate although they did use microwaves a lot.The rooms are basic and a bit tired and could do with a bit of a refurb, they had started renovating the spa area, which was a disappointment as...

Let me start with the positives. All very friendly staff. Restaurant - dinner was carvery - all food was excellent and hot Restaurant staff all most friendly and attentive. Breakfast was all piping hot at 09.00 contrary to what has been posted on a recent posting and there was an excellent selection. Regrettably the hotel generally and room were very...

A hotel which is undergoing some refurbishment. Quite a lot of noise and mess. Have stayed before for work commitments so was aware of its shortcomings. Breakfast isn't very good. The hot choices were cold and dehydrated. I guess if you attend breakfast when breakfast starts at 0700 it would be ok but I didn't want to as I was...

We were booked into the Royal maritime by family that live locally. The hotel is very tired and is undergoing refurbishment whilst remaining open . The spa was a building site and the library had scaffolding up whilst the roof was being fixed ! We were booked into single bedded rooms on the third floor we decided not to use...

We upgraded to a superior room which is advised, as we compared to others we stayed there with, our room was large, with large bed and recently decorated, lovely bathroom and over bath shower, compared to our friends basic room which was smaller and looking a...

We stayed here last night and although we have stayed here many times in the past I thought another review would be good. The rooms are very hot even though there was no heating on but a fan was supplied which helped. There was a function on downstairs and we were on the first floor so it was very noisy...

It's a perfect place to stop over. Staff, food, facilities were excellent. Well want to stay here again. The room was comfy. The food was hot and tasty. It's also convenient for some shops too if you needed anything. Coop, Subway etc.

I have been using the Royal Maritime for many years primarily because of its loyalty to the Armed Forces and in particular the Royal Navy. However it is clear that this is now a thing of the past and my recent stay resulted in my cancelling a future booking. The hotel, as it now is, is looking tired and I...

I stayed one night on my way to a meeting on the Isle of Wight. Perfect location for the ferry. If you have time it's also very close to the historic dock & Gunwharf Quays shopping. Staff were friendly & helpful, the room was comfortable & had clearly had a refurb. It's an older hotel but tidy & very clean....
