Well positioned for the Historic Dockyard and Gunwharf development .A good base for this sector of the city. Limited parking on site but residents can obtain a 50% discount from the multistory carpark just over the road. The hotel retains the feel of a Club, comfortable, spacious and welcoming. Rooms a good size ~ on the warm side so may...

We received a warm welcome and efficient check-in, a parking space was found for us at the side of the hotel by checking on the CCTV (good to know they were using it!). The hotel is obviously very 'military' in it's décor, very reminiscent of an officers mess, perfect considering the area it is in. The bedroom doors looked like...

We stayed overnight in Portsmouth to say safe travels to our daughter and her boyfriend as they headed abroad to spend a year travelling around Europe. The hotel looked lovely in the photographs, and the photographs of the outside and inner foyer did not do it justice. The downstairs was very nice, olde worldly, dedicated to the wonderful men and...

Just a one night stay in this comfortable and very friendly hotel, with a nice atmosphere. We were lucky to have been given an upgrade to one of their Superior Double Rooms, which was spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable. Room rather warm, but easily solved by opening the window slightly. Breakfast was plentiful and self service, so you could have...

Stayed for one night at the maritime club, good location for Gun wharf quays and the historic dockyard, HMS Warrior is in getting refurbishment work. Good location for business trip also. There are a few parking spaces right outside the hotel, not sure where you would park if these are full. The hotel is tired and dated, but is under...

There is an overall RN theme which makes it feel a bit like staying in an officers mess (possible senior rates mess) and bit of a throw back that really could do with an update. The rooms are comfortable, but basically equipped. The breakfast is as good as you would expect.

Held our daughters surprise 40th in Below Decks, a great new function room. Ourselves, family and many guests stayed the night of the party. Everyone was impressed, from the staff to management everyone was really helpful, the buffet was superb as was breakfast the following day. Even asking for milk at 10pm for the baby to go to bed was...

Nice hotel if a little a dated. Easy checkin. Quiet room yet very close to the historic dockyard. Decent full English breakfast. Quirky hotel features but this added to the stay. Walking distance to clothes shopping, restaurants and dockyard museum.

Stayed for a weekend with a group of friends, and whilst it is hard to argue that the venue could do with an overall, it is still an extremely pleasant place to stay. An immense amount of history on display and the rooms, although a tad tired, are still relatively comfortable. All of the staff encountered were extremely helpful and...
