My wife and I booked the Unicorn for my parents and us as a present to them for their Diamond Wedding, this was mentioned on our reservation. We were met at reception by the very friendly manager and went to our rooms which were both the superior rooms. Our room nice with a four poster, it was clean and of...

Thank you for your comments , particuarly about the quality of the food Your comments about the room - It is an old building(1642) so we do have leaks and maintenace issues, the bathrooms are old fashioned but that is reflected in out tariffs The breakfast - We don't have a night porter as you only are required one in...

My wife and I stayed at the Unicorn for a couple of days over March 17/18. It's a charming, very comfortable and affordable hotel. There were a couple of small problems with the room we had been assigned and we were immediately offered - without having to request it! - an upgrade to a superior room at no extra cost....

Thank you for your review and the lovely comments about your stay here. We are not personal friends but it seems like we almost became friends by the end of your stay (I hope that doesn't sound too cliched) as we were talking about one of the reviews who said that the breakfast was rather small or inadeqate but you...

We stayed, together with friends of ours at The Unicorn on 31st December and 1st January 2011. We wanted something relaxed and informal for New Year's Eve. It was superb, delicious 3 course meal and relaxed atmosphere in the bar afterwards. Lovely rooms, staff great. Really relaxing and enjoyable stay. Watched the Heythrop Hunt take off from the Square in...

Thank you for your comments - New year seems a long way off as we have the summer to look forward to but I will be doing a similar good value for money package this year and hope that you can join us again. We don't always get things right all the time particuarly as it is an old building...

I stayed here with some friends after a day at Cheltenham races and had a very nice time. You can tell the hotel has a lot of history and the decor reflects this. The open fire in the bar area was lovely after a long day out and the staff were very helpful. We were offered numerous rooms to pick...

We loved this hotel, it has a lovely old fashioned feel and the staff were friendly and accommodating, it was a great breakfast you could help yourself to a large selection of cereals and fruit we had as much toast as we could eat and a cooked breakfast to top it off. We've stayed in lots of places and think...

Over priced, over rated, menue did not vary over our 4 night stay and was way over priced. Most of the staff are very friendly and will try to help you if they can. The rooms are well below an accetable standard for the price this hotel charges. Over the week end, the hotel had no less than 4 dogs...

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay here and that you thought the hotel was over priced but I do dissagree with you in that I offer rooms in the Winter from £55 for a double room including a full English breakfast. The Hotel dates back to 1642 and is old fashioned in decor but it is...

Thank you for your comments about your stay here but I am rather confused as to your point about the small portions for cooked breakfast as we do offer 2 Gloucestershire old spot sausages, 2 rashers of bacon, 2 eggs, tomato, large flat mushroom, and black pudding as well as fruit salad, toast and cereals. Best regards Chris Martin

We stayed at the hotel for a romatic break and it was lovely. Very welcoming and homely, with a fantastic roaring open fire. The staff were friendly and helpful, the standard of food was excellent and not overpriced with a good selection of wines, beers and after dinner drinks. We called into this hotel on one of the coldest and wettest days just before Christmas, for a drink and a meal, and to enquire about a potential two-night stay. I can only apologise if this was your experience at The Unicorn and I will be addressing the issues. We were in the process of changing all the lampshades in the bar at that time and I can only say that unfortunately you arrived just as that was partly finished.
