We had high hopes of an excellent meal at The Painswick .... we were sadly disappointed. We were a table of 4 friends who love food. The selection of dishes on menu was truncated and uninviting and then sadly the end product was lacking in taste, presentation and invention, for such an experienced kitchen we left underwhelmed. There were a... More

Had lunch here today, parking a little tight but available and steep steps to the main entrance but inside a warm cosy feel and beautiful interior design. Lunch was delicious, chicken Kiev and then cold bread and butter pudding with a fruit compote. Only slight winge is that the cold pudding was actually chilled but the compote was warm. Personally... I really enjoyed staying here. Our room was small but nicely decorated and had everything that we need. Staff were friendly and the spa treatments were good. The restaurant and breakfast were also very good. Would recommend and would love to stay again.

I chose The Painswick for my wife's birthday - she likes trying out posh restaurants and it was a special occasion. £125 later, we were delighted with the choice. Access through Painswick's maze of narrow streets is not for the faint-hearted but once you're there, you're glad you bothered. The restaurant is beautifully laid out and we had a lovely... More

We had visited before under previous ownership when the decor was too quirky and way out. With the knowledge that a complete refurbishment had taken place, we booked lunch and we were greeted by very professional and mature member of staff. The lunchtime menu was simple with a good selection of food at the right price. The refurbishment of the... More

This hotel is charming. Difficult to find in a lovely Cotswold village it is immediately welcoming with its multiple log fires on a wet autumn day. The rooms have everything you could thing if and more but it is the little touches that pleasantly surprise. The row of Wellington boots and coats to borrow while following one of the many... More

This is a very special hotel, if I compare against very good hotels it is right up there. The location is quiet and beautiful. The attention to detail for quality is evident in everything. It is a taste of British luxury. We stayed and had supper which was amazing. I think the Raspberry Soufflé was created out of the imagination... More

We had lunch and it was fantastic. The staff were attentive and helpful. The atmosphere was great, we were the last to leave and really didn't want to leave. All good things come to an end. We will definitely come back to this hotel and will stay this time instead of staying at the Hatton Court Hotel. Well done to... More
