Three of us ate at The Falcon on a Saturday evening, during a one week visit to the Cotswolds. It had been recommended by a local resident, and turned out to be a very good advice. The service could not be faulted: the staff were efficient and cheerful, and we didn't have to wait long for our meal. The a...

My partner and I stayed here for two nights and took our dog with us also! The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. We stayed in the coach house and had a family room which had lots of space. Our dog milo loved it. We had a little basket at the door to put our muddy boots in when we...

I brought my wife and teenage daughters here for Mother's day and was very impressed. The food was lovely, the trout in particular was cooked to perfection. The staff have a nice friendly approach which makes you feel that you're staying at someone's house rather than a restaurant. I work in the industry at a leading venue and so I'm...

We visited The Falcon Inn for lunch on a very cold day. This venue is quite spacious, the staff are friendly and engaging and the log fires created a warm atmosphere. There is an excellent menu and the food we chose was superb at sensible prices. The service could have been a bit quicker, but it's well worth the wait. Painswick...

We visited for a midweek dinner, tempted by the good reviews. The place has a modern interior and we easily found a seat. Then the wait began. Evenutally our order for mains was taken, and we sat and waited. And waited. After 45 minutes, they main courses arrived, and they were very good, my lamb rump was tender and the...

This is a lovely destination pub. Welcoming, delicious food but still, at its heart, a lovely country pub. Not to mention the charming village of Painswick. Every time I'm in the area I check in for a pint and it always feels lovely. Somehow the landlord has managed to notice this and I always get a warm welcome which makes...

I have stayed at the Falcon frequently over the past few months for business. The rooms are tastefully furnished with great amenities (kitkats always beat the usual stale hotel biscuits, and the White Company toiletries are great). The restaurant is almost full every night, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is a real winner (especially if you compare this...

Went with extended family for Christmas Day lunch and it was excellent. Ample room in the pub to eat even though it was busy. Food was great and good choice of dishes for each course. The staff were very pkeasant, attentive and efficient. Overall a very good experience and will definitely visit again.

Excellent choice of dishes as well as the standard Sunday roasts. I had cockles as a starter, which was a first as an option on a restaurant menu, for me and they were excellent. Plenty of vegetables. Good choice of sweets.

We rolled up for a very late Sunday lunch after a walk...not the best time to expect a great meal. But what a surprise..the staff were still fresh and extremely helpful. The food was beautifully presented, beautifully cooked...and plenty of it. I couldn't fault it having had much worse in restaurants.

The Falcon was first opened as a coaching inn in the 16th century and carries out the aims of the coaching inn to this day, the transport to it is just a little bit different.
