Characterful 16th century building, once the home of a wool merchant. hotel is on a lovely quiet street with ample parking nearby. Had called in advance to apologise for being late for our lunch booking - staff very polite and kind about it, telling us to drive carefully and to note the lunchtime orders deadline. We were welcomed on arrival and a passing member of staff asked if we were the couple who’d phoned earlier! As the website says, the staff are lovely. The airy outdoor seating area is clean and comfortable, table service is prompt with good attention to detail. The lunch was just right - we’d chosen salmon rolls - beautiful fresh rolls and tasty salmon filling in clean plates with clean matching cutlery. The cleanliness should be taken for granted, but I mention it because that is not always our experience. Not the cheapest pub lunch we’ve ever had but the combination of location, staff and food made it worthwhile, before exploring Cirencester once again. We’ll be back.

Our favourite hotel in the Cotswolds. Set in a traditional merchant’s house dating from the 1600s. Family run, with great customer service. We had a very comfortable clean room on the first floor. We had both dinner and breakfast, food as usual was excellent. The dining room and bar are open to local residents, always a good sign of quality and value for money. The hotel is a short walk to the town centre and abbey grounds. There is an adjoining car park at the rear for guests.

Our stay at Corinium Hotel was part of our Go Tours tour of Stratford, Bath, Stonehenge and the Cotswold’s. Originally built as a merchant’s home in 1595, what it lacks in amenities it makes up in charm. Our room was on the third floor and the clerk enthusiastically offered to carry our suitcases, although I insisted on carrying one. The warnings on beams to “mind your head” and “Duck” are to be taken seriously. Two windows extending from the roof provided ventilation but no outside views. Though clean throughout, a sensitive nose in our party detected the aroma of wood smoke in our room. Each of us had our own bed and slept well.
Registration and the restaurant are on the first floor. Breakfast was included with our stay and was enjoyable in what I would envision as a typical English Inn. Corinium is conveniently located within easy walking distance of restaurants and sites of Cirencester.
I would recommend Corinium to travelers seeking a quaint experience. While we enjoyed our stay, I would look elsewhere if we return to Cirencester.

I booked a meal for 15 friends at the Corinium Hotel in Cirencester. None of us knew Cirencester, and I did not visit the hotel beforehand. As soon as I telephoned to see if it would be possible to have our dinner there on the date we wanted, I felt that I was dealing with an organisation that would help us get the sort of event we wanted. The menu was emailed immediately, and, as requested, I sent in the menu choices 7 days before as requested. 2 guests had food intolerance issues, and these were accommodated. On the night, we had the restaurant to ourselves, and the table had fresh flowers on it, and was nicely laid, and the lighting was just right. The food was very good and the service was excellent, and we were able to sit there after the meal, without feeling that we were a nuisance. I would not hesitate to eat there again.

We stayed for one night on our way to the SW to break our journey. This is a lovely characterful hotel with excellent food and a quiet but very friendly ambience. The Corinium turned our necessary overnight stop into the perfect start to our holiday. Everyone had 3 courses for dinner from the plentiful menus and everything was delicious. Similarly breakfast was top notch. Beds were very comfortable and everything meticulously clean. The hotel's location, with free parking, is a few minutes' walk from Cirencester centre and therefore peaceful. Highly recommended!

Cirencester (a former Roman city) is a gem, and the Corinium hotel is ideally placed to tour the town on foot. Located on a quiet street 5 minutes from the centre, with virtually no passing traffic, even for front-facing rooms. This latest was the third time we've stayed at the hotel. It's all olde-worlde, go someplace else if you want porcelain and glass modernity. The stairs to some rooms are steep, but ask for more accessible rooms if you're 'of an age'. Breakfasts excellent, serving staff anxious to please, helpful receptionists. The owners were about to sell up this year, but I'm glad they changed their mind.

This is in a good, quiet location and walkable about 5 minutes into the centre. It is spotless clean, with a lovely garden and ample parking. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who showed us to our room. I believe there are 15 bedrooms. Our room was lovely, bed comfortable and again very peaceful of a nighttime. The shower was powerful and complimentary soap and shower gel. The room was cleaned each day, with the towels. There is coffee, tea and biscuits with 2 bottles of water each day is replenished. The breakfast is gorgeous with such a good choice and was served by a lovely lady I think her name was Julie. We ate once in the restaurant and the food is home made and was excellent. The bar area is small and quirky and a few locals go in there. Honestly, such a beautiful place and thank you to all the staff that make it picture perfect. We loved it so much.

We were two couples who stayed for one night, would have stayed longer but they were fully booked. When booking I called the hotel directly as we required two rooms both with baths, spoke to Julie, the owner, who was extremely helpful and booked us in, no problems, an email confirmation arrived very soon after with information with regards to accessing their car park.
On arrival we went in to give our registration number, as we were told we could use the car park before check in, to be told our rooms were ready early, a nice bonus. We were escorted to our room by David who insisted on carrying our case up the narrow and steep stairs to our room.
Lovely room with a four poster bed, two comfy chaurs, wardrobe, desk, mirror, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Nice bathroom with corner bath and separate shower. Everywhere was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast in the morning was excellent, lots of choice, freshly cooked with quality ingredients and all served with a smile.
Lovely family run establishment, we will definitely return.

We stayed 2 nights at this centrally located historical hotel in Cirencester to celebrate our wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it. There's a good car park- a bonus for a hotel close to the town centre and court yard/ garden to sit in and enjoy a drink. Lovely olde world bar area and dining room where we enjoyed a fantastic choice of delicious breakfasts and an equally delicious evening meal. Our light airy bedroom was on the first floor up a short flight of stairs passed a gorgeous stained glass window. There was everything you needed in the room to make it a very comfortable place to stay including a hairdryer, ironing board and iron and kettle and drinks plus bottles of water. It was a very hot 2 days but with the window open and fan it was no problem and we slept very well. The en- suite had a bath and shower and there was always plenty of hot water available. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful - it really is a delightful place to stay and we are already planning our next visit!

We stayed here last month for a short break. Great location and there is ample parking at the hotel. We enjoyed some warm weather during our stay and there is a lovely outdoor seating area where we enjoyed a drink or two after a day out exploring the local area. Breakfast was adequate. Everything has to be ordered from the table and there is no helping yourself to fruit juices etc. We didn't mind this as there is probably less waste. We did use the restaurant on one occasion for an evening meal but were not totally impressed. My portion of vegetarian curry was very small and I had to request another naan bread as the one sent out was charred and completely rock hard. It was replaced without any bother. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. All the staff were really friendly and the hotel has a nice welcoming feel to it. Anyone staying there needs to be aware that the stairs to some of the rooms are very steep and therefore not really suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Hi
We actually have 2 staircases to the 1st floor accessing front or rear bedrooms, the first being wide and easy, the other quite steep with curve at the top. We do offer luggage assistance plus we also have 2 ground floor rooms. Regards, Tim
We do have two ground floor rooms in the hotel which are suitable for wheelchair access. One is a twin and the other is a double and both have en suite shower facilities.
We also allow pets into these two rooms as well.
Hope this is of help.
There are more places to choose from in the Cirencester area.
