We were recommend this place by a local gentleman during our night in the swan hotel in Bibury. A short taxi ride away. Very friendly and genuine welcome and a warm atmosphere at the bar. The food was just beautiful and the service was outstanding. This was a highlight of a lovely short break in the Cotswolds and we will...

Just amazing, thank you so much for looking after us all so well. Nothing was too much food and wine amazing, rooms beautiful and spotless. Felt like being at home as the bridal party took up most of the hotel we were able to relax in front of the fires without feeling like we were making the place look untidy....

I stayed at the New Inn for 2 nights as I was getting married near by. I stayed in Room 10, the bridal suite, and I really couldn't fault it. There was plenty of space to get ready on the morning of the wedding, the room was very clean and the free standing slipper bath was beautiful. The bed was...

We stayed near this pub on holiday in the area. The beer was superb as was the food. The service was great, and the staff, owners and other patrons were friendly. Also dog friendly in the bar area which is where we were seated to eat. Highly recommended.

We chose this pub more or less at random because it was mid-way between us and our friends. It's in a lovely part of the country and we had an enjoyable drive there. The place looks quaint and charming from the outside; like a cosy if unprepossessing rustic country pub within. From booking to our departure the staff were friendly...

If you just want to chill out, be off the radar, rekindle that love or be somewhere with someone and you don't want anyone to find you, this place is perfect!!! In fact you will be off the radar as you probably won't get a signal anyway!! The food is great and the beer selection is wonderful, especially rare is...

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch last weekend. We heard it was under new ownership and as a family we love the nearby sister pub, which we visit whenever we are around, so we thought we would give it a try. We did not book and when we arrived it was very busy but they managed to sort us a...

We booked out the whole of the New Inn for our wedding weekend 4th and 5th November, and had the most amazing time from start to finish. When we arrived we found out that the New Inn had only just been taken over a few days before, but you honestly would never have known. The staff were all brilliant and...

Great place for a decent lunch in this pretty village. Inside or outside seating for a local beer and good honest gastropub grub. Under new ownership by one of the Cotswolds' most respected operators.

Great tasting lunch.. A few teething troubles as its under new ownership, do t let that put you off. The owner is happy to resolve any issues, and that's what makes a difference to the overall visit. The menu isn't cheap but the food is worth it. All cooked to order. Yummy!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The New Inn is a lovely Cotswold pub with good-sized rooms and delicious pub food in the charming village of Coln St Aldwyns. It is just 2 miles from Bibury, the home of the world-famous Arlington Row. The New Inn has 15 stunning rooms, overlooking the Coln Valley in the Cotswolds. It has a cosy restaurant serving good food and a wide selection of drinks. It is the perfect retreat if you are exploring the Cotswolds, and you can curl up by a toasty fire after long walks or busy days sight-seeing. Our food follows the principles we have established at nearby Cripps Barn and our other Cripps Barn Group venues, we buy only the best raw materials, regardless of cost (sorry, accountants!) And we then we hand them over to Head Chef Chris Cheek who will deliver them to you, precisely cooked and served with the simplicity that such fine ingredients deserve. In the bar we rotate three ales, Hook Norton, Dorothy Goodbody and one guest ale, having two on at a time for optimum quality, and on the kegs we have two ciders, Stowford Press and Thatchers Gold, and three lagers, St Miguel, Carling and Kozel. We import our own wines by the pallet from small, perfectionist wine-makers to bring you outstanding quality for the money. We will soon be introducing a wine preservation system which will allow the sale of fine wines by the glass. There are savouries and snacks available in the bar, and for fun there are games, cards, bar billiards and darts. Of our 15 rooms we have ten double rooms, four extra-large double rooms and one single room with a 3/4 bed which will take 2 good friends. The Inn dates back to the sixteenth century so all the rooms are different and individually- furnished. The floors creak occasionally and there is the odd imperfection, but the place has real character. Children and dogs are most welcome; there may be charges so please see our T&Cs. ... more   less
