We are totally new to caravaning and have only been to one sight previously to this.
On first impression, I found the site really busy, not much room in fact with cars near reception double parking but checking in was easy.
It is a pin code entry exit system which works well and again we had no problems there.
We took our dog upto the top field, an enclosed field and let him off lead, we liked that and directly next to the dog field is a small football pitch with a couple of small goals for the younger people but other than that there really wasn't much else to do.
I thought one toilet/shower block was very insufficient for the many campers who were there and hopefully they will place another block.
The two staff members we met and spoke to were very friendly and offered to help us with a few problems with the caravan.
The site is very handily placed for Cheltenham and Cirencester, the former being 25 minutes away and Cirencester being a 10 minutes drive.
We saw several excellent pubs on the road to Cheltenham and a golf course a few minutes away in the Cirencester direction so there is plenty to do in the area.
On the whole we thought the site was quite peaceful but very busy, and thought the laundrette and toilets/shower facilities were good but needed more.

We have stayed here many times over the years and have always enjoyed our visit. This year we camped for five nights and for the first time, we had a serviced pitch (electricity and water) which was very handy and made life easier for us. Being able to permanently run our Cool Box and recharge our phones, iPads etc. was especially useful. The whole site has had a considerable amount of work done to it in the two years since we last stayed. It has been landscaped and the serviced pitches are mostly on the level, with a gravelled parking area for a caravan or car to be positioned next to an area of grass where tents or caravan awnings can be erected. Unfortunately, our grassed area was quite small and it very much restricted which way round our tent could be pitched. There was also quite a bit of bare compacted earth, which also influenced where we could place our tent. When we booked, we weren't asked how big our tent was. Larger tents would definitely have had difficulty in fitting into that space. Our pitch was quite private due to the laurel hedging surrounding this and many other pitches and was appreciated.
Five suggestions for improvement:- a) that you have clearly labelled rubbish bins so all rubbish does not end up in landfill. When we first arrived, there were two huge bins, full to overflowing, one clearly marked as being for recycling and the other for landfill. There was also a separate bin for glass. These large bins were taken away, presumably to be emptied and were replaced by five very small bins ( which quickly filled up) with no indication of which one took what, apart from the glass. We conscientiously separated our waste whilst there, but when we were leaving, were told "we don't really do recycling, just put everything, apart from glass, in any bin". This in NOT environmentally friendly!; b) the shower curtains should be weighted. Any movement of air, no matter how gentle, blew the curtain onto your body which then stuck to you - not a good experience as it felt very clammy and made continuing to shower rather difficult; c) that some sort of foldaway shelf is provided in every shower cubicle to put clothes etc. on. There are few hooks, so anything put on the floor (the only other option) gets thoroughly wet. It should be possible to take in and at the end of the shower, to have a dry set of clothes to change into; d) the wire shower racks are rusty and past their best. They should be replaced; e) Wifi should be available throughout the site, not just at Reception. It's 2023 and the technology is so much improved that it should be possible to install the necessary electronics to boost the signal so Wifi is available everywhere.

Pitch had electric, water and was level on small gravel with a place for the awning of the camper van.

Bit of a walk to the nearest Pub but 40 mins is do-able and worth it.

Used the shower block with free showers which smelled like a swimming pool so had been cleaned which was a great signal.

Will definitely come back!

We booked this site via pitch up £34 per night for serviced hardstanding pitch. . Paid deposit and final balance 6 weeks before arrival. 1 week before departure I received a phone call saying we owe £28 ((£4per night) extra because pitch up had got the price wrong. As RIAT was on its a higher rate. I queried this with pitch up and the site direct via email.
Site advised its actually £16 for just 4 Bank Holiday rate nights (RIAT only on for 3 days so surely £12 ?)
Pitchup advised we owe nothing. An agreement had been made at initial booking and therefore we do not owe any extra,in fact had we paid we were to ask for a refund.
Upon arrival the staff members first words were "oh yes you refused to pay,we've had no problems with anyone else"
Which actually annoyed me a lot. No welcome greeting etc. If I could have booked elsewhere I would have.
We paid well over £230 for this site. There are over 100 pitches and it was full.
It seems they realised they had an opportunity to rip people off because an airshow was on. We will not be returning for this reason.
The site itself is very hilly. You will need blocks to level your caravan. The access road is narrow and tight to manoeuvre. Some pitches are very difficult to site van due to slope and tight space.
The road noise is continuous, even at night. Don't expect peace and quiet.
The showers are very clean and plentiful hot water ,however there is a charge for hairdryer use. Also only 1 amenities block which causes queues when site is busy. A very long walk from tent field to use facilities.
The landscape and grounds are very well maintained and quite pretty.
There is an information hut with dvds books etc. Wifi is very poor and only available in the hut by reception. TV signal very poor.

Not the best. We stayed there for 5 nights and I wouldn’t return. The site is predominantly made up of permanent pitches which makes for an eerily quiet atmosphere. There are no children playing and the wash block is generally quiet. You’d think this would be good but facilities are tired and need a complete renovation and everything feels flat and tired. It just wasn’t great.

Lovely site, clean, tidy & friendly. Very clean toilets & hot showers. Only negative is the traffic background through the night from the main road overhead. We had a ' 8 for 6 ' deal and when we arrived on the Friday we were pleased to see that fish/pie & chips could be ordered and collected for 7pm. on site. ( a nice touch )

So, there is some road noise, you forget it. The ground slopes, it provides great views from the top, there is only one toilet block, but it is huge, spotless and with all the amenities you could require. The staff are courteous and friendly. There is no litter.
Just had the most relaxing three nights over the bank holiday there. Can’t fault the place and look forward to returning.

There are pros and cons, but there are more disadvantages, unfortunately.
We chose this location because we wanted to be able to take a walk into Cirencester.
The walk is around 3 miles each way, we chose the road route because we had a pushchair, and it was never an issue, though the path is narrow in areas.

We were welcomed by two friendly and accommodating staff members, a young lady and a young lad. They relocated us because the first pitch they gave felt more like a parking lot (pitch 5).

There was only one toilet block for the entire campsite and just a few facilities, which resulted in queuing, which is not ideal if you are eager for the bathroom and it is raining.
We weren't too far from the toilet block, but I think if you're in the top field, the trek can become a burden after a while.

Most of the pitches are fairly cramped, in my view, but this is just my personal opinion.
Maybe we've been spoiled with space previous times we've gone away, and thankfully we didn't have a huge awning as we would never be able to have it up.

The noise from the A417 didn't affect us, it's fairly evident that it's near the A417, so we wouldn't have booked here if noise was an issue.

There is a golf club fairly close to the site, about a ten-minute walk away, that welcomes non-members and dogs outdoors, so I would recommend stopping there for a drink if you wanted to be within walking distance.

The issues mentioned above are minor, you will encounter flaws when visiting a site you are unfamiliar with, and the majority of the time you can accept these.
However, the one thing that really ruined it and is the reason we will not return is that I had a query and ended up speaking to a gentleman who I was later told was the site owner, he was very rude, arrogant, and unhelpful!

Had a fantastic time on the Mayfield Park. The pitches were great and had hedges planted, which in time will give privacy between the electric hook up pitches. If you like the sun, you can get it all day (if it's out). Facilities were very COVID safe and perfectly adequate. We walked into Cirencester one day and had a look around, lovely walk (3 miles), through fields, so we could let our dog off lead. Also lovely walk in the other direction to a lovely country pub (1 and half miles) for a few pints. All walks recommended by the campsite. We were surprised how quiet it was, hardly any tents (with no hook ups). If it was full, it might have felt different but we loved our stay.

Will definitely be back!

Heavily involved in the traveller community, machinery used until late. Clean facilities but only one facilities block, it's advised to take your own toilet etc if camping or it's a long walk, especially with children. Camping is all on a hill, no way around that, they have ducks and chickens which never had water and was smelly. Very noisy from the road, especially in the morning and throughout the day.
