Hubby and I enjoyed a romantic weekend for our wedding anniversary. We wanted a cosy stay rather than a bigger type hotel. We had dinner here on the first evening and for £25 for the 2 of us it was a really good bargain - we shared a starter, and a dessert.I had a lovely steak and Hubby really rated the...

My wife & I visited Bourton on the Water on one of the busiest days so far this year. As all of the riverside food establishments were full we looked for an alternative and found the Duke of Wellington pub just a few yards off the beaten track, just to the left of the motor museum in Sherborne Street. We hadn't booked earlier and walked in around 3 pm asking for rooms. The lady at the bar showed us 2 rooms which looked pretty decent and we checked in immediately for a night. One of the rooms was stinking a bit but on letting her know, she immediately took care of it. Host and hostess were both very gracious...

Small basic rooms, no frills but in an expensive over booked village it was fine. There is something lacking in this place though as all the other pubs and restaurants were buzzing. Bed and breakfast was £80, the breakfast was very good, well cooked, plentiful and good quality ingredients.

We pre-ordered our meals at the hotel's request. We were given two tables in a pleasant setting with good light from roof windows. Notwithstanding we were running twenty minutes late, the food was served with a smile in a timely fashion to our group. It was hot and to a very good standard. It was a most convivial occasion for...

Ate here last night, as we had popped in a couple of times for drinks and found the staff really friendly. Glad we did, the food was lovely and there was plenty of it, and very well priced. Ate in the bar, lovely atmosphere. Thank you to Hannah and Amanda, who made it very welcoming.
