Stayed here on Saturday 30th April overnight as had a wedding in Lewes 2 different premier Inns had wanted £130+ for same night or would only accept if booked 2 nights. The Dorset was very accommodating when I booked via phone on looking for a family of 4 room even arranged early check in with no hesitation. Staff very welcoming...

Hi Emma - Thanks for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Just to let you know we are in the process of refurbishing all our bathrooms, 3 have been completed and the remaining 3 are scheduled for the next couple of months. Unfortunately you were in one of those that hasn't been done yet, but I'm...

Nice comfortable double room with lovely breakfast next day. Very reasonably priced £65. Rooms very clean and bed extremely comfy with a nice en suite shower. All in all would definitely recommend. Just for information premier inn wanted to charge £135 for same night stay with breakfast not included

Lovely pub, good selection of drinks. It was good to sample the local Harvey beer. They do 4 x 1/3 pint so you can sample of them!!Food was piping hot and very tasty. There was a good selection of snacks and meals. Not bad prices for Sussex. The staff were young but really helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

We have just had a 2 night stay. The staff were very friendly, the bed comfy, clean fresh white towels and a fanfastic breakfast. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were amazing. Only comment would be the bathroom needs a bit of TLC. A coat of paint and new Lino would make a big difference. All things considered, good value for money...

I don't usually go for a pub meal, but when my friend suggested I meet her and an acquaintance at the Dorset Inn, I agreed. It was cosy and welcoming and had the feel of a country pub. The decor was rustic but nice. We were seated at the back of the pub. It was relatively spacious and the table...

Stayed for 2 nights as a group of friends for a weekend in Lewes, walking the Way and sampling some Harvey's. The Dorset is in a great location at the end of the high street with a municipal car park over the road. Excellent cooked breakfast. Friendly staff. Pub has a great atmosphere and good beer. The 3 bedrooms themselves...

Thanks for your review and comments. We are aware of the need to refresh the bathrooms and have made a start. 3 have been completed renovated to date, and 3 are scheduled for the coming months.

Well where do we start! Went to Lewes for our 5th Anniversary and from the website it looked a nice place to stay and in the heart of the town, however that's where it ends! 70's style decor needed a refurb desperately, bathroom can only be described as disgusting, black mould in the shower along with rotting wood down by...

The Dorset Inn is in a fantastic location in Lewes and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Breakfasts were very good indeed and all the staff were just lovely. The inn offers value for money. Stayed a week in June and had no big gripes at all; after all have stayed in the UKs worst hotel-also in Lewes-the White...

Had a great stay recently. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and had everything that was needed. The cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious and staff were friendly and welcoming. Reading the comments I can see what people are saying in terms of refurbishing of rooms however the were clean and for the price very good. In short a...

We needed a place to stay whilst visiting friends in the area and only chose The Dorset Inn because of the location but so glad I did. Previous reviews were mixed but we were pleased with everything about our stay which progressed over 2 days. The room was clean, dust free (asthmatic) and it had a homely feel about it....
